u have to write down the names several times, and if you can , try to mace some stupid conections between the name and anything else that hav similar name in your language, for exp. Olea europea (olive) ~ Oil. Try to make jokes with their names. Don't get stressed!

I make flash cards with the scientific name (a picture when possible) on one side and the common name on the other.

Take a lot of digital pictures but stay organized. I usually have a camera (not digital, unfortunately) and a recorder. I snap a picture and record the name and spelling and the picture number.

It also helps if you do what Pimpinella suggests. Write it out.

I've had 4 ID courses and 3 mini ID courses and all of these got me through them.

first learn to recognize the plant. then learn it's common name.then learn the genus.then learn the species
