The older I get, the smarter my Dad seems to get.

In psychology, there is the term, "Subjective Projection."
According to the person doing the observing (the Subject), the one he is studying may change and develop over time the more the observer understands.

Once, God was seen as a Master to Fear ... many still refer to Him as "Lord", and talk of following their faith to escape suffering in Hell.
Such a view is similar to the relationship of a slave to his owner. Such a person needs to develop their relationship with God.

Jesus was seen as a Saviour. To focus on that relationship is to avoid personal responsibility. God has to do everything, while that believer only stays faithful. No deeds are needed, or that is seen as trying to work your way into heaven.
A very comfortable faith for those that don't want to get out of their comfort zone to love their neighbour, let alone their enemy.

To relate to God as our Heavenly Father includes all of the above and more.
A Father will push his child forward to learn as they experience difficulties, but the Father will be near enough to help when "saving" is needed.
But most of all, a Father's motive is love for as long as we are His children (which in the case of God is Eternally). So like it or not, God loves you, and to want to do things for your Father is much better than to do things out of FEAR.

So can God learn? As we grow closer in Heart with Him, we find depths in His Heart we never knew were there.
Once we have exhausted that resevoir, then maybe His heart will need to grow more to house all the love we are giving back to Him ... but lets wait till will get that far before we tell Him He needs to change.

God doesn't need to learn because he already knows everything there is to know.

As the reverend said... God sure was surprised a bit in the OT.

Technically he shouldn't be able to learn anything, because he is all knowing, all powerful, and "everywhen".

Logically, an O3 Christian God makes zero sense... but that *thinking thing isn't really for Christians

If God was absolutely perfect in every way, then he would be faced with an existence of an infinity of boredom and promptly wish himself out of existence, as there was no reason for him to exist.

It might be that to avoid that, then we were created to provide amusement.

I fail to understand how any person thinks that they are in a position to know or judge what God is or isn't!

God knows everything, but gave man freewill, so what man does is unexpected, so God learns from mans decisions.
