Phytoplankton (plankton that are small plants) consume CO2 (carbon dioxide) and produce O2 (oxygen). Since carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas, any reduction in CO2 levels should help reduce the effects of global warming.

He's right Plankton absorb CO2 and release oxygen. I'm not sure of any websites but if CO2 is a factor in global warming it could possibly help. But CO2 is not the biggest driving factor of the greenhouse gases its Water Vapor!! So people should focus more on that instead of CO2, but we don't have much control over water vapor considering 90% of the water vapor in the atmosphere is from the Oceans.

To Coocachoo13:
Water vapor is the most abundant greenhouse gas on the planet, but it is not the primary reason for global warming.
The levels of water vapor have remained fairly constant over the last century. It is the dramatic increase in CO2 levels that is attributed to the recent climate change. While carbon dioxide is not the most abundant ghg, it is the most important.

To Riccardo A
Yes, C02 is the problem at the moment but it is not the most effective greenhouse gas, methane is. That is why cow farms are so bad for the environment, they have bacteria in their stomachs that produce methane. Methane is about 25 times as effective at trapping heat than CO2 but you are right, it is primarily C02 that is to blame at the moment due to our lust for oil.
