I do wear an apron if I'm cooking anything messy. I keep some of them on hooks in the kitchen, and others folded in a drawer there, so I don't have to be "away" to fetch it. I have several I've made in different fabrics for the seasons and holidays. They're really pretty and I love wearing them! I made some for my little girl, and she loves wearing them, too.

I don't normally mention that I'm putting it on, but I do use one in front of friends & family. I'm a messy cook and that's the best way for me to protect my clothing. It's much easier and cheaper to wash my apron then to have to purchase a whole new wardrobe!

I'd put an apron on if I don't want to possibly get the food I am working with on my nice clean clothes. . . But why would I mention it? I wouldn't make it a secret either. . . .

I don't own an apron, so I wouldn't put one on for anyone, but if you feel better protecting your clothes while cooking when you have an apron on, go for it.
I've seen plenty of business men in restaurants wearing bibs. You have to do what makes sense to protect your clothes.

I haven't worn an apron since I was cooking for my bf, now my hubby of 17 years. (He thought it was sexy then.) But yes, I did wear it in front of him and I did say I was going to get it and then told him when I went to put it away after taking it off. WHY?

I think an apron is cute because it reminds me of country cooking and my old mum who was never seen without one. I'd never wear one, but it depends where you live and what the apron looks like. Please don't wear one emblazoned with fake breasts!! Wear what you want and feel comfortable with in front of friends and family.

I wear aprons all the time! I have several old one from my gramma, a few antiques, and some I've created myself.

if it isn't some novelty thing, but just a plain apron to keep you clean when you are wearing nice clothes then why not... but remove it before sitting down to eat
