have to believe in it-not a christian but that is one day a year when it seems people a a little friendier-a little more polite-the warmth seems to come through as a whole-its one my favorite days of the year as it seems at least for that one day people forget the differences and look at each other as humans---here to maybe someday everyday is like that-----enjoy the day---just my opinion

I despise Christmas and Thanksgiving and New Years... the whole freaking "holiday season". It interrupts my routine. I hate having my routine interrupted. It changes practically every aspect of my environment -- I can't go to WalMart even without huge displays, work without people having decorated their desks, my own home without my family having put up decorations.

Except for the position of Earth relative to the sun, there is no difference between April 29, May 8, November 21, December 25, or January 1st. They're just periods of time 24 hours long. I've never understood people making a fuss of them. I get pissed come April 17 when people start blabbering about, "Happy Birthday!" as if the Earth having returned to the same spot it was in when I was born has any real relevance to life.

A day is a day, nothing more, nothing less. Yeash.

It is All False Reasonings;
This is a many faceted range of emotions for me.

1st off~
I now know the truth behind the religious aspect of it~~
it's all a BIG FAT LIE. saturnalia, winter solstice etc...
Jesus ISN'T crammed in there somewhere...
it reminds me of a stubborn child trying to shove
a square peg in a round whole...you know it doesn't fit;
& yet the child stubbornly Refuses to admit this.
That's the ppl that know it has nothing in the world to do w/ Jesus, Peace, GIVING,
and yet continue to spend $$ on themselves*.

Even b4 I came into the truth;
I was So Very Sick of the whole thing!

2ndly~The commerialism of it ALL!!
The stores are a disaster,
u can't find things on the shelves,
the crowds are; disasterous!
The attitude of ppl in general, is just Horrendous!!
Ppl r Rude! Obnoxious! Short-sided & ill- tempered!
And b~t~w~ the Scriptures says:
"Peace on earth, towards men of goodwill."
And they all are Not!
Like I said @ the start...Sickening!

3rdly) It has NOTHING AT ALL to do w/ Jesus!!!
So, where did the santa clause lie come in at?? huh?
We all know it's NOT Jesus' b~day.
Sickening.

4th) We were commanded by Jesus @ the last supper
to commerate his death & resurrection.
Nothing was Ever said about the date of his earthly birth,
it is Not in the Bible!
Doesn't that 'tell YOU Something?!?!???'

5th) The ppl are filling their heads w/ false reasonings,
then go about like Everything in the world is......
just perfect, hunky-dory, peace, love & happiness,
Bbbaauugh! Wrong Answer!
All the while, they r doing the will of Satan the Devil.
By serving themselves, their own selfish desires.
Sickening.

6th) And let me not forget,
how the world shuts Down!
Business' close early, ppl go on vacation,
ppl go home to get ready for a party,
go shopping, 4 a party, gifts,
food, clothing~ doing x-mas stuff.
Spending $$$$$$$ they don't have.
The inconvenience is horrible!!!!!!!!!

{ Just a tid-bit of 411;
More married couples fight
over $ during this time of year than any other,
and alot end up divorced,
over $$ (spent @ x-mas time).}

Sickening!!

7th) How about the kids that r old enough to know the truth,
there ain't no such thing as santa,
& yet still insist on their parents getting them presents? Umm? Sickening some More.

8th) How about the kids who have nothing: no family,
no housing, no food, or toys, no clothing etc...
I don't see the ppl giving $$$ away,
not spending it on themselves*,
but GIVING it to help the Really Needy!
SICKENING!!

9th) We were Never told by Law or Principle
to do these things.
I will remember to thank Jehovah God
for the FREEDOM!!!
I have in KNOWING THE TRUTH,
which has SET ME FREE!
from such enslavement!
Yes, ENSLAVEMENT.

And like I said @ the onset,
I was So Very Sick of it All!!
Even b4 I learned the truth from the Bible.

*themselves,
being the family & friends in their own lil world
that they spend $$ on.

edit: psst...I loathe
the entire 'holiday' things.
From Oct~Jan.
I dread it.
It also reminds me of how
many ppl won't be in Paradise,
which is very saddening.
Ppl are like mindless, zombies**
hypnotized by the lights & singing,
like lambs being lead to the slaughter house.
**Total Lack of a Better Word.

Atheist who actually likes the idea of it (winter solstice) also, the whole "Peace on Earth" and "Give not receive" thing is very good...I just don't put too much stock into the whole "J.C.'s b-day" that's all...I get all warm and fuzzy inside during that time of year, and mushy too...but it has nothing to do with J.C.'s observed b-day....hope this helps!! ^_^

I don't believe in the spirit of Christmas. I'm not a Christian, I'm not a consumer/gift addict, and it's cold where I live at Christmastime.

Dear Jenny:
No, we don't celebrate the Christmass holiday for a number of reasons.
First, it has been shown that it is not Jesus birthday.
But! The most important fact is that Jesus told us to celebrate his death, since that allows us to join in his celebration of his victory over Satan.
Satan provides many nice feelings about wrong things so that we feel comfortable while actually sinning against God.
If you want a lot of those warm feelings, join us in spreading the word about God's Kingdom.

I drink a lot of warm drinks around that time, but I know that's not what you're talking about! ;D

Yeah. Christmas is still my favorite holiday, and I can't help but feel kind of mushy around then. Only two more months! :)))

Depends on what spirit you're talking about? ;) :D

I'm 41 and still love the holiday, both for the season and activities and the true meaning of the holiday, the celebration of Christ's birth (not birthday since we know he wasn't actually born in December) ;)

Christmas has NOTHING whatsoever to do with Jesus Christ. It is the Catholic adopted pagan Roman feast of Saturnalia.

Well I assume you are referring to Saturnalia in which case yes I do believe in the true spirit of the season...merriment!
