I'm totally peeved about TV stations making money from people silly enought to ring any voting line.
I think it's a good idea to have an interactive show but to get viewing audiences to ring in, I think the voting lines must be free of charge and monitored so producers don't mess up the results with their bias.
I have only ever placed one vote for someone on Big Brother series one in Australia. I've never bothered ringing up any voting line since.

Reno 911, because I live in Reno and our cops are not that stupid. I wish they were, would have saved me a ton of cash in tickets!!! Also, the dating shows on VH1...Rock of Love, Flavor of Love, Tela Tequila. The first time around was okay, I guess. But to have a second season is just stupid. Especially since they all have significant others and it is just fake. Not one of those shows has the people ended up together for even a day after. Like on Tela Tequila The winner could not even get her phone number and he was supposed to be her chosen mate whatever.

Yes I am. I think they are a complete waste of air time. Especially the ones which seem to take up half of peak time broadcasting on Saturday nights.

It's about time broadcasters in this country were concentrating on quality TV, instead of these poor excuses for TV shows which just seem to be designed to give has been and wannabe celebrities increased exposure, and to make money from the unsuspecting people who are gullible enough to phone in.

Well I guess that votes do count. There is a trend. But yeah I hate all this stuff too. It just wastes people's money and people who call in are just totally wasting that 20 or 60 cents which could be used to buy, let's see...hmm...a packet of biscuits. :D

They're an easy way for the TV companies to relieve the hard of thinking of their dole money.
You're spot on in thinking that the producers know exactly how these will turn out well in advance.

I never 'vote' on talent shows, but I do enter competitions and it has paid off. I won a £10K prize last year (£5K cash and £5K to spend in a catalogue) on 'This Morning' so I do still believe in some of the competitions x

Rip off. Massive scam.

They charge you about £1 per minute to call in and they are all rigged anyway, especially if they are on the BBC (recent Blue Peter fiasco).

Your vote counts for zero.

I am for sure, They will keep making them by wasting our money and take advantage of voting and making a bigger profit and the cycle starts again. So yes very annoyed.

I don't care about them - I've never phoned in to one of these shows, but lots of people like doing it (hence the MILLIONS of pounds that GMTV have made/scammed).

But, am I p'd off? No.
