So, i've been dark for quite a while now (which several chocolate/toffee tones). At times, i've had blue and blonde highlights too, so i'm no stranger to colouring my hair.
But I feel like a bit of a change.

What colour change from that, would you recommend?
My mind is open for all ideas.

Why not try natural black and red highlights or slices.
The 2 contrasting colours add shine and drama to the hair, without to much stress.
There are many red tones now which have intensive hues, claret, burgundy etc.

I like dark mahogany with caramel highlights just at the front and top, the caramel doesn't show through for about two weeks but what you get is a lovely combination of light reds to start with.

My suggestion is, since it sounds like you're open to a new look, go to a salon where the stylists have a few years experience, and let them give you their opinion. Maybe a new style WITH new color would work. Possibly go a bit shorter... Look in magazines for ideas, and maybe if there's a few different styles you like, see how they could combine to create a unique look of your own. Good luck in your decision!

A little light colour such as brown. But that depends on your skin tone whether is match or not. But personally prefer light brown.

i personally like dark reds, but i know that a combination that looks great in dark hair is black/dark,dark brown and royal purple highlights.
