Do you know if the girl is infected? If she is, it could be a symptom. Even if did contract HIV, you could still have gotten a cold from anything. Some people who get HIV get symptoms, others don't. Everyone's body reacts different so "symptoms" isn't something to diagnose yourself with. The only thing is getting tested. You should get tested now then maybe in another month and half. By month 3 about 80 to 90 percentof people will have antibodies show up in a test. Check out the CDC website and read up! It's scary stuff but at the same time if we choose to have sex, we have to be adults and responsible about it. Best wishes =)\

forgot to put- if people get symptoms, the flu thing they get is like having the worst flu of your life. you also can get yeast infections on your tongue, fatigue, headaches, swollen lymph glands in the nose, throat and neck. some of these are for advanced HIV, but then again you can't "judge" since we all react different.

To know if you have HIV based on these symptoms is pretty inaccurate way in measuring if you have been infected. The ONLY way to know FOR SURE if you have HIV is to get tested. There are several methods out there in which you can get tested. The most expensive way to get tested but the most accurate is HIV PCR. You can be tested with 99% accuracy around 28 to 32 days after exposure.

The most common is the standard ELISA blood test which can only be done most accurately after 6 months but can give you accurate results (for most people) after 3 months. It has a higher probability of presenting a false negative than does HIVPCR due the possibility that you have not seroconverted. HIVPCR checks for the virus itself ELISA tests for antibodies. On average, people usually seroconvert (meaning build antibodies up against the HIV virus) within the first month but a greater percentage serconvert by the 3 month window and usually 100% by the 6 month window.

Please get tested and also abstain from sexual activity until you are certain that you do not have HIV. Good luck and remember, ALWAYS USE PROTECTION!!

a cold? and only 4 days ago? You probably caught the cold from her. :o

I doubt that you would have become HIV infected and turn into AIDS in four days.

Get yourself test though. Unprotected sex is asking for problems. Get ready for a round of unpleasant tests. Just close your eyes and hold your breath when the big Q-Tip comes out.
