out a small piece of bread to everyone, and a nice bowl of beef and barley soup. Would you:

A. Refuse both meals because of the fact that they are using animal products in the second meal, and that hurts animals and is cruel?

B. Eat the small piece of bread, but refuse the hearty beef and barely soup, because that hurts animals and we can't have that?

C. Eat the bread, eat the soup and have the energy to cry some wet tears for the poor animal who tasted so good?

Trade an apple or some other fruit or veggie to the guy who picked A for his soup and bread. Then go eat with the C's, who are probably too busy stuffing their faces to cry anyway.

Beef is pretty expensive and during the Great Depression, Lentils became known as " The Poor Man's Meat." Personally I could never handle the texture or flavor of meat which is the main reason of why I went veg. But for sake of living, I'd eat it, but not think it tasted good. Again, lentils are very cheap, easy to cook, and taste very good so really no need for a beef stew!!

I'd pull out the frozen seeds from last years garden and grow my own food. I usually do that anyway, so it wouldn't bother me much. I'd probably give my bread and 'beefy' LINTEL' (beef would more than likely be too expensive, even for the government to ration out) soup to somebody who needs it more.

I would take both the bread and soup and trade the soup for 2 pieces of bread from my fellow line mates.

B.

Then I'd look for the nearest Hindu Temple or Hare Krishna center to get some decent vegetarian food. If I couldn't do that, I'd eat dandelions, berries, wild onions or whatever I could find; I'd rather die than eat meat.

Lovely question, my friend.

I eat meat, so I can't really answer your question directly.

But I honestly can't STAND cabbage.

If I was hungry enough, I think even cabbage would taste good.

So if I WERE a vegetarian, it would be for health reasons only... and eating meat would be better than starving!

If we were in a "Great Depression", WHY would we be eating anything with beef in it?

Beef is more expensive than dried peas or lentils and it is a waste of resources.

None of the above. I'm at the top of the food chain, and it's the
duty of the animals to provide me with sustenance.
