Great question. This was posed to me by a friend of mine a couple of years ago. I think in the US if you are bringing your cans, bottles and plastics back for deposit redemption for cash, then make sure there is some labeling or barcode that is scanable or readable.

However, if on the other hand you are concerned about the degradation of the material, then I'd say you don't have anything to worry about my friend. RECYCLE!!

Cheers!!

There may be a time limit or geographic limit on *refunds* of deposits on bottles and cans, but there is no limit on them for bulk recycling by weight.

No time limit. Glass and aluminum does not stop existing as recyclable items.

If a bottle is a glass thing and if your can is a metallic thing you can recycle it.So if you find anything made of glass or metal you can recycle it.

You can always take your bottle and cans back to the store. Smaller individual store owner may take them but, larger store always take back older bottle and cans. Make sure the have the deposit stamp on them.

No time limit. At least not in CA and probably not anywhere else.
