If you still eat eggs and dairy, you will be an ovo-lacto vegetarian. Vegans have their own reasons for not consuming those ingredients, but you have to do what's right for you.

As for protein, I'm sure you've never heard of kwashiorkor unless you work with starving populations. Kwashiorkor is a disease caused by lack of protein, and the only way you suffer from that is if you don't eat enough food or you mainly eat junk food.

You're going to have to work around your family--although many recipes can easily be veganized--and probably cook your own meals.

As long as you eat a balanced dIEt ie No meat and (even dairy, Vegan) you do not have to worry about protein.
Protein is a term that was coined by the Meat and Dairy industries.
Plant based protein is far superior than animal based protein. Where do you think animal protein comes from?
The Meat and Dairy Industry is BIG business.

Yes, vegetarians may keep eggs and/or dairy in their diets if they choose. Don't fret about protein; most people in the Western world get far too much and excess protein (particularly animal-derived) irritates the immune system, taxes the kidneys and leaches calcium from the bones. You can get plenty of protein from soy, beans and legumes, fruits and veggies, whole grains, nuts and seeds, and mushrooms.

Nope you dont need to give up milk or eggs. though they arent very nutritious anyway.

Your daily dose of protein will come from most things that you eat. theres varying amounts of protein in everything. consuming meat gives you far too much protein which taxes the liver and kidneys and contributes to osteoperosis.

just make sure to eat a balanced diet of Vegetables, Grains, Fruits, Nuts, Legumes and Seeds ad you will be fine : )

there is no instance of protein deficiency in adequate calorie consuming populations.

beans are a good source of protein-but it's not like there is any rule as to what you can and can't eat while being a vegetarian-my boyfriend mom is a vegetarian and she doesn't eat eggs but she does drink milk
