vegetables are a great source of protein:

chick peas, bean, tofu....

This webpage from the veggie society has good info on why we need protein and where we can get it from.

You do know this has been asked numerous times before, don't you? This is one question we vegans get asked too many times, and I'm amazed people still fall for the stupid protein myth. But then a lie does get halfway around the world before the truth can even get its shoes on.

Have you ever heard of kwashiorkor? You haven't? That's a disease caused by protein deficiency. And as you can imagine, it's almost unheard of in industrialized nations. The only way you won't get enough protein is if you don't eat enough calories or you eat mostly junk food.

Its not hard, but you should eat a variety of foods to get the most out of all the protein you is consuming. You need to eat cereals and legumes. They are both rich in protein, but different kinds. So you need to get some of both. You don't have to have some of each in the same meal, but like once a day, or every two days tops.

If you have couscous for example, you get loads of complete proteins: semolina (cereal) and chick peas (legume). Or rice and lentils. Bread and houmous. You get the idea.

Soy is also very rich in proteins, more so even than meat.

I shouldn't worry too much, if you eat normally and vary your food a little, you will do fine. We really don't need that much protein, according to doctors and average person actually eats 4 times to many of them.

Go vegan!

tofu is an excellent source of protein and calcium. Lentils are high protein too, as are most beans, seeds and nuts. Soya based foods are high protein also. Good luck going vegan!

Beans.. soy meat.. whole grains..nuts...

all excellent sources of protien.. Just as good as meat protien (especially in proper combination, or when a wide variety is eaten)

I love PB on waffles or pancakes.. Nice way to add a little extra protien into my breakfast..

There is protein in everything...veggies, fruits, literally everything. I eat a lot of beans, tofu, and boca products. You will have no problem getting enough protein a day.
