Is it a normal thing to feel your heart beating while resting?
the thing is that I can feel my heart beat when I'm not doing any kind of physical activity, like right now I can feel it beating against my chest, and it gets worst if I go running or something, it beats really fast, so fast that if I sit still my body shakes to the rhythm of it.... is that bad?

It's normal to feel your heart beating. The interesting thing is that the more you think about it, the more you can feel it... if you're worried about it, your mind focuses in on it and you'll find that you'll hear it a lot more than before. It's like a radio that's on in the background - if you're busy doing something else, you won't notice it but if you start thinking about the radio, you'll be able to hear what it's playing.

Because of a family history of probable cardiac deaths, but before there was much a real diagnosis on death certificates, I had a complete cardiac work up. I've had a history of what I thought were palpitations, rapid beat, etc. Kind of scary stuff. I had a minor episode of those symptoms while actually undergoing one of the tests, which was basically video of my heart working. There were no palpitations... nothing to do with the heart. I found out from the cardiologist that the muscles in the wall of the chest around the heart can have twitches... just like an eye can twitch.... Apparently this is what happens to me.... & apparently this is quite common.... & like palpitations can be induced by anxiety.

This is not normal, especially the situation you describe with you body shaking to the rhythm of it.
You need to get to a doctor and get referred to a cardiologist for a full work up.
There is a condition where you can feel your heart beat. Usually it is also heard and occurs when you lie down to sleep.
However, those people don't have symptoms you describe, your body shaking to the rhythm --- which probably means an arrhythmia. And that is NOT good.

I have that also. It is called palpatations. Look it up on WebMD. For some it may be normal and ok, for others it may be a sign of something else. I went and saw a cardio doctor and went through many tests and found I have a non life threatning heart condition that is very common in women. Just watch your beats and write down how fast the beats are (the number of beats) in one minute and also if they are regular or irregular and share that with your doctor. I would contact your doctor.

Mine does the same thing. I have an abnormal heart beat though. My cardiologist said that some people notice their heart beating. Some people are less sensitive to it and don't notice it at all. If you feel fine just try not to pay attention to it. You might drink too much caffeine or something.

you may have what is called a sinus arrythmia. If you montitor your heart beats, do they speed up when you breathe in and slow down when you breathe out?? This is perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. I do the same thing and so do many others.

It needs to be checked out. My heart does that because of serious anxiety issues (that I now take meds for) and lack of regular exercise made it worse. Just go to the doc because this is your heart your talking about and you only have one.
