Let's see...

This was some years ago, by the way but I remember feeling sick all the time, wanting to sleep 20 out of 24 hours a day, drinking enough water to drown a camel, eating a lot but still losing weight, constantly having dizzy feeling and nausea...and of course, never wanting to be more than 20 feet from a bathroom.

I went to my doctor and told him to find out what was wrong with me. The fasting glucose and following glucose tolerance test left no doubt.

I'm a type 1 and have been since day 1. I use an insulin pump.

extremely thirsty-i could drink two 20oz bottles of water in 15minutes and still feel really thirsty.

frequent urination- at least every hour during the day and 4 or 5 times a night

feeling tired- i wanted to sleep ALL the time

unexplained weightloss- i lost 40lbs in 2 months

blurred vision- i didnt get this symptom until a couple weeks before i was diagnosed...and i had been showing symptoms for a couple months.

extreme hunger is another symptom. i didnt really have extreme hunger though...i sort of had the opposite...i lost my appetite...i just wanted to drink (non-alcoholic drinks!)

I was had an unquenchable thirst... (just throwing down GALLONS of water a day) and would experience these "hot flashes" where I would be sitting around & feeling sweaty & hot for no reason. I started losing a significant amount of weight ... about a pound a day, no matter what I was eating.

The oddest symptom I had was phymosis ... (not going to go into the gory details of THAT) which is what set off my doctor's curiousity to even test me for diabeties.

Always thirsty, always craving food, had to pee all the time, had faint feelings in the morning, diluded urine, lost a ton of weight. I was down to 72 lbs. by the way I'm almost 16 and that was over this summer. Now I'm back up to 96 lbs. and I've only been diagnosed two months. WOOHOO

My daughter was diagnosed in February here were her symptoms:
Weight loss
Thirsty
Bed wetting
It can't hurt to go get tested. We caught it early. She was wetting the bed more than ever do I reaserched that and diabetes was a symptom. Good Luck!
