Here is my dilemna: my room stay relatively warm right now day and night. I keep my air conditioner on low just to keep the room comfortable enough for sleeping. Recently I started waking up with real bad sore throats.

I bought a Warm Mist humidifier yesterday and began running it.

My question is this: If I run my Warm Mist Humidifier and my window air conditioner at the same time, will the humidifier still be effective?

Lots and lots of people do just that, because the AC takes so much liquid out of the air that people experience dry nasal passages, nose bleeds, and babies who are stuffy benefit from using the humidifier with some vick's vaporub in it.

I think your sore throats are caused by allergies. Something you've contacted recently--a change in diet, change in office, new carpet, new bed, new pillow, or a big change in the pollen count (check the web). In TX, our ragweed pollen is the worst it has been in 15 years. Lots of us are sniffling. Perhaps taking an antihistamine/decongestant before bed would be helpful. Ask your pharmacist which one to use, because some of the products will keep you awake.

Take care.
