According to Robert Sternberg's research, "Love" is an emotion consisting of three components: intimacy, passion & committment.
Intimacy, the feeling close and connected to someone (developed through sharing and very good communications over time). Intimacy is what makes you want to share and offer emotional and material support to each other.
-Intimacy alone is Liking (true friendship without passion or long-term commitment)
Passion, the feeling physically aroused and attracted to someone. Passion is what makes you feel "in love" and is the feeling most associated with love. It also rises quickly and strongly influences and biases your judgment.
-Passion alone is Infatuation (passionate, obsessive love at first sight without intimacy or commitment)
Commitment, pledging to your self and each other to strengthen the feelings of love and to actively maintain the relationship. Commitment is what makes you want to be serious, have a serious relationship and promise to be there for the other person if things get tough.
-Commitment alone is Empty Love (decision to love another without intimacy or passion)
Romantic Love: Intimacy & Passion, no Commitment
-Lovers physically and emotionally attracted to each other but without commitment
-“As in a summer romance”
Companionate Love: Intimacy & Commitment, but no Passion
-Long-term committed friendships or a marriage in which the passion has faded
-I love you but I’m not IN love with you
Fatuous Love: Passion & Commitment, but no Intimacy
-Commitment based on passion with without time for intimacy to develop
-Shallow relationship such as a whirlwind courtship
Consummate Love: A complete love consisting of all three components

Lust is entirely physical - you want to have sex with this person, grope this person. All body stuff. Love is emotional - yes, there are aspects of lust in love but for the most part it's wanting to be with that person, talk with that person, cuddle, and to stay with them forever. tl;dr Lust leaves when you gain a few pounds, love stays and asks if you want cake.

Like everyone knows about. When you get along with a person and enjoy their company. Lust is when someone wants another person for their body not just for company or talking. Love is much more than any of that. Love is whenever you want to be with that person not for sex or anything like that but just so that you can be with them. No real reason to be with them but you just want to.

LOVE is an overwhelming concern for the well being of another without regard as to what you will receive in return. LIKE is when you care for a person, you get those butterfly feelings in you stomach, and you really want them to feel the same way about you.
LUST is when you desire a person or something that you should not desire. Something that is not yours to desire.

LUST= Physical attraction
LIKE= Good Friend
LOVE= Someone you see yourself growing old with
*my short description, of course there is many more right answers that would be perfectly on target
A mixture of all three will make a wonderful relationship but you can always have one without the others

Like is to simply enjoy some one being able to laugh and have fun.Lust is a feeling of the draws.that simply. For me Love is something that you can physically feel inside of you body, example: When you're sitting around and you think about something that person did and you get this tingling feeling that's more like love.Love should also be a combination of all of the above

Lust is when you just want to have a "one night stand" with someone. Like is you want to be friends or possibly more. Love is your souls recognition in anothers and is a strong and wonderful thing. Trust me, if you have to ask if you love someone, you dont. Sleeping with someone and telling them you love them is not love. Love is like Geronimo. It makes you want to climb to the top of building and jump, because you feel like you have wings. Geronimo

Like is getting along with and enjoying being with someone.
Love is my significant other whom I am with now.
Lust is what I had with my ex-husband, purely sexual. It really takes no brains to be in lust.

Its easier to define "like" and "lust". "Love" has been stumping philosopher and king for all of time.
"lust" - the desire to have sex with.
"like" - the preference to be around.
As for "love", consider the following:
I love my mother.
I love ice cream.
I love my spouse.
I love the irony that the most fiscal conservative President in the last century has caused by biggest federal debt.
Personally, I think the term "love" is very much "like" only with a dash of obsessiveness. Personally, I think the term is over-used.
