Gosh, its so frustrating to see your additional comments. Yuo really have not looked at this issue at all.
Its only good for a cow to be milked because we have messed about with its life. We artificaially make it pregnant, give it loads of artificual food - often with growth hormones in it, adn as soon as the calve is born and had its initial colotrum feed we take it away from the cow. Therefore, of course the cow needs milking - we've just removed the reason its giving milk.
Natural cows in the wild do not need milking, they produce enough milk for thier calve.
Then of course there is the death of all the bull, free martin, and exces calves at 1 week old. If you drink milk, you are responsible for all those deaths.
And the adult cows are killed at 7 years old rather than a natural death at 20 years.
There are many issues with the modern milk industry.
"Crazy vegans" - don't think so.....i think its more accurate to describe your statement as "crazy"..education might be your key to understanding the issues

Franks obviously doesnt know much about milk cause skim milk has very little fat in it. but anyways, vegans dont drink milk cause its an animal product. yes, it is better to milk a cow then leaving the milk in. but cows are constantly kept pregnant so they are able to produce it. this isnt healthy for the cow. for the record im not vegan, and i drink milk. just stating the facts.

so you think that by not milking the cows we would be doing them harm?
hmmm
well, the reason cows produce milk is to feed their calves
THE EXACT SAME REASON
that humans produce milk to feed their babies.
are you saying that we should falsly impregnate human beings and milk them because otherwise we would be treating them cruely?
i see no difference.
milk is what every mammal produces to feed their babies and eventually they all get weened off.
except for humans, they are sick enough to mooch the milk off other animals.
it's disgusting when you think about it.

This has been asked before, you know. But I'll answer AGAIN.
To produce milk, a cow has to be pregnant. If you recall your biology classes, you will know this holds true for all mammals. A dairy cow is typically inseminated every year, as a cow's pregnancy is roughly nine months. She is also given hormones to increase milk production and antibiotics to counteract the infections that result from constant milking. There's blood, pus, hormones, and antibiotics in the milk you drink.
With me so far? If she weren't kept constantly pregnant, she wouldn't be producing the milk. If she weren't doped up with massive amounts of hormones, she wouldn't be producing an overabundance of milk. And if her calf weren't taken away from her at birth, her calf would be drinking the milk his/her mom provides.

Milk comes from an animal. Vegans don't eat, drink or wear anything that comes from an animal!

The cows that are used to make milk are bred to have freakishly large mammary tissue. It is not comfortable to live like that and they should not continue to be bred. Many are also fed a grain diet which raises the acidity of their rumen and makes them sick so they have to stay on antibiotics their entire lives.
You're the crazy fool that thinks it is natural to be fed from a cow's t*ts.

Milk is hazardous to your health. Cows diets consists of feed that contains chicken feces and pesticides. Cows are injected with tranquilizers, anti-biotics, hormones, and pumped with 20 odd other non-FDA approved drugs. You in turn, drink this by-product...And you call Vegans crazy???
Educate yourself on the matter before opening your mouth. Otherwise, you just sound and look dumb.

Cow's milk was made for the calf not humans, I don't think your mother gives her milk to other animals!
