Ok I took this pledge with my mom, that we can't of course eat meat/be a vegetarian. I'm in 6th grade and I feel its healthier not to eat meat. Most people who are vegetarians are in shape who excercise ( from scientests polls). And when I grow up I want to be like that. So I decided too. I started this a week ago. I ate some chicken today and yesterday :( I feel so bad. I also ate some last wednesday :(. I really wish I didn't. Cuz i love chicken in chinese food. But with red meat and pork i have refused to eat. Since its October first i feel I will stop totally. But I just love chicken so much! And plus I HATE TOFU! Help me!

Awe, Darlingg. I'm 14, in the 9th grade. I didn't have your problem. >_>
I just hated 'Meat' All together.
Rofl.
A Good chicken replacement is
BOCA BURGER CHIK'N PATTIES
They're awesome.
You can heat them up in the microwave!
Only takes about a minute and 15 seconds.

And for your Chinese food,

Just get some fried rice, Heat up a chik'n patti from Boca, Dice it up into desired size and toss it in your rice!
It tastes AWESOME.
Just like regular chicken. I love it.

Where to get this:
ITs called Boca Burger Meatless Chik'n Burgers.
They're sold in the frozen food section at Walmart or Shoprite.
They cost about 3-4$ for a package of four burgers.

Boca also sells a variety of other non-meat foods
Such as Burgers, Burritos/Wraps, Ground Burger (For Tacos), Lasagna, And much more.
You can also look for "AMY'S" which sell a large variety of meatless products.

Sold at Walmart + Shoprite

That would be a rarity. Have you fallen on your head or something? Just kidding, it's your body and you should always listen to it. If that's what it wants, you should do it. But be prepared to have some very serious troubles with your digestion, after 7 years, your stomach will practically be in a state of shock if you start putting in it something that is just not meant for humans to digest. Not to mention the toxins, the parasites, the hormones, the antibiotics. Your body will not be very happy. So go very slowly. Frankly, I've never heard about anyone wanting to regress healthwise, but may be you just were not doing the vegetarian thing right. May be you were not getting proper nutrition. So give it a try, you will feel much worse of course, and all the lethargy will come back, you will lose a lot of energy, your brain will not be as sharp. But that's your choice. Give it a try, may be you will like it, may be not. But if you decide to go back to being a vegetarian again, make sure to educate yourself on how to give your body all the nutrients it needs. Because cutting meat alone does not make you healthy, you need a lot of stuff to have your body function properly. You know there's nothing in meat that can't be found in plants, right? So may be you just didn't know where to look. Good luck, and I hope you'll change your mind.

Chicken was the last animal flesh I gave up, so I can totally sympathize. But one day I got so disgusted eating it, that was the last time I ever ate meat.

Now, saying you hate tofu is like saying you hate cake flour. Freeze and press your tofu to avoid that mushy texture. There's also tempeh, an Indonesian soybean product that has a nutty, chewy texture. Seitan is wheat meat, and if you use Vital Wheat Gluten or High Gluten Flour, is pretty easy to make. Don't get the packaged seitan, as it's expensive and doesn't taste that good.

Check out www.vegweb.com for recipes, many of which are pretty easy to cook.

There are many analogues available out there at your local natural foods store and online. You're sure to find one you like.

And I hope you keep it going for longer than just the month. Good luck to you and your mom!

it can be a little hard at first, but don't feel so discouraged. it will take some will power on your part, but after going without it for a longer period of time, you won't miss it.

there are many fake chicken alternatives. morningstar nuggets are a start!

today's a new day :)

this is something u have to decide.
some vegetarians do have a small amount of meat 1x a month but that isn't a true vegetarian.

also u should think about u'r clothing. r u'r shoes, handbag, etc. leather, suede? they r animal.

good luck.

Some people who are vegitarians eat chicken for protein. I know that vegitarian means NO meat, but some peoples parents make them.

You say you hate tofu, but prepared properly, you can have some outstanding stir fried "chicken" or orange "chicken". Visit kraftfoods.com for some vegitarian ideas. Find lots of stuff you like, and you can't go wrong.
