I know it's tough but try to quit. My wife and I just quit about 2 1/2 weeks ago and I can already notice a big difference in my cough. We started using nicorette gum, which we're buying by the way at flea markets for a fraction of the price, like $10 for the 170 pcs. If you try, good luck with it!

the only way is to quit smoking, thats why they call it smokers cough. You can relieve it with a strong mentholated medicine.

I quit smoking a month ago and have just started coughing up the stuff off my lungs. It aint pretty.

Stop smoking ASAP. Smoker's cough is one of the first signs of COPD (chronic obstructive lung disease), specifically chronic bronchitis. COPD is a basically irreversible disease that results in significantly reduced overall health and quality of life. The best way to reduce your chances of developing COPD are to stop smoking immediately. Trust me when I say it's worth the trouble of quitting - my grandfather is dying from COPD and I'm sure he wishes every day that he had quit smoking sooner.

The answer is easy, but the solution is a lot harder, because nicotine is a drug and a hard habit to break.

But if you want your health to improve, you need to quit smoking. If you can't do it on your own, there is help available.

Well just stop smoking the reason, that your coughing is that you lungs are slowly filling up with tar, i am sure if what happened on the inside happened on the out side i am sure you would stop.
