no, eating brains doesn't make your brain bigger, only in the movies. Yes, people do eat brains though. I have eaten pig brain and it tasted like vanilla pudding.

Some people eat animal brains, heart, kidneys and so on.
An old restaurant in my home town had a sign that advertised "Brains 25 cents Drive In" and there was an arrow pointing where to go.
People thought the sign was so funny it stayed there for many years after the restaurant was gone. Some people even made posters and T shirts with a photo of the "Brains 25 cents Drive In" sign.
You can see the picture here if you want:

No, there is no scientific evidence that eating a brain will make you smarter or anything like that.

People saying they'd never do it for anything less than a pile of money are fools. People all over the world eat things that us Americans find disturbing. People in the U.S. eat things like pigs feet, fried chicken feet, boiled baby chicks still in their shells, intestines, animal testicles (look it up it's called the Great Testicle Festival). Shoot look up what's in Scrapple!! Or HEAD CHEESE for goodness sakes. I've eaten plenty of things during travels around the world and prefer not to be told what's in it. I'd rather enjoy the hospitality and the meal rather than wanting to wrech. I have in fact eaten chilled brains and the taste was fine it was the actual looking at it/them that bothered me but I have to say they were tastey. Given the choice between eating anchovies or brains I'll take the brains :)

People do eat these things.... but think about what you are asking.
When something is eaten; it is digested in the stomach etc...
There is no way it could make your brain bigger by eating brain, etc....
Anyway, I think it would be a much more popular dish if that were true; but it isn't. Brains are useless after death.
Just a mushy dish on the side of your plate.
Anyway, if you eat rump steak; do you get a bigger rump?
The answer is no....
:p

Now why would eating a pig's brain, which is something people do, make a human being smarter? Eating the brain of Stephen Hawking maybe, but not the brain of a pig.

I am a former chef and have prepared brains in french cuisine a number of times, and the ladie who said about the brain sandwich in Indiana it is not sheeps brains it is pork.
And is your brain were to get larger for any reason you would be in a coma, swelling of the brain is almost always fatal, and your brain grows with your head, it is not like finger nails or other organs that enlarge for many reasons, your brain weighs 7-8 pounds and Albert Einsteins was 9, so it will not get bigger but the heavier it is the smart you are they say???

That is not how food consumption works. Our bodies break down foods in order to absorb the nutrients that they carry, such as vitamins, minerals, etc.
Eating brain, heart, liver, etc will not affect the size or performance levels of your organs. Eating sustains us and gives us fuel - like putting gas in a car.
Actually, some animal parts are not recommended for consumption due to risks of diseases.
I hope this helped clear up the issue. :)

that is an old Indian belief. they would eat the organs of their enemies and prey to become smarter or something (ex. they would eat an enemy that they had just killed's eyes to see things like he/she saw it and to be able to find out their plans.) that belief had nothing to do with science, only voodoo and superstition. if that was a legitimate question though, you are a moron, explain to me why eating something's brain and having it go through your digestive system would make your brain larger (other than the protien and nutrients absorbed and used to help power your brain) and i will explain to you why going faster than light speed makes you become younger and why going faster than light speed would require infinite energy.

They do serve a sandwich, from sheep's Brain in Indiana, However it has not been proven it makes you smarter. Why ? Well why would it? You can get protein from a protein source. That is about it.

there is this documentary called "faces of death" where (i think) people thought they would gain some kind of wisdom or "power" by eating a monkey's brain. they showed how they took the monkey, put it in this table contraption thing which had his head sticking out, then they hammered on its head and ate his brains.
don't quote me on that.... it's been a while since i've seen the movie... :)
