Can anyone please tell me what that means?

Raw tobacco is a green leaf.
To produce smoking or chewing tobacco it has to be hung, dried and sometimes smoked (treated with smoke) to cure it.

Farmers pick the tobacco, and when they put it in the barn, it means that they are curing it!
They are like drying the tobacco out, so it can be took to tobacco warehouses and sold in big bundles!
They use heat at a certain temp. in the barns to do this!
When I was younger, I used to help put it in the barns!
Where I live, there are lots of tobacco fields!

Tobacco is a large green leaf they pick it put in bundles and hang to dry which is called being cured. Then it is sold chopped and turned into cigarettes
