i had this happen to me. I made stuffed pork chops and baked potatoes, salad, and fresh baked croissants. I also had grave. I had the pork chops butterflied, so I could stuff them. I had them cut thick. So they were quite spend. I bought enough for each person who was coming. It was for lunch. It was my daughters Grandmother on her fathers side, and it was suppose to be grandmothers sister. Well here she decides to bring her brother. I only had 4 pork chops. For desert I made strawberry short cake. I only bought four round individual cakes. When I saw all three walk in I was like hello. I did not say anything. I had the dining room table all set up with the crystal and China. I knew what I would do. I would not eat. It was not a big deal for me. I did not get more then four chops because they were cut thick and I knew no one would eat more then one. They asked why I was not eating, and they told me to go get a plate and go to the kitchen and get some food. I told them oh I am fine. I am not hungry. I had a big breakfast. And since you do not see Chelsy much I wanted all of you to enjoy time at the table. I never let on, that an unexpected guest came. So it all worked out.

It is never proper to bring an uninvited guest. The host has planned the meal to feed a certain amount of people, and that is all. I guess I would give my place up to the uninvited person and tell everyone I had been tasting and nibbling on the food all day, and I wasn't hungry. I probably couldn't eat anyway because my stomach would be tied up in angry knots. Don't make this guest feel uncomfortable, it's not their fault, it is the inconsiderate person who brought them along.

when inviting someone for dinner or being invited, most people will tell you at the time of the invitation if you should invite a guest, saying bring a guest, someone, your g/f-bf etc. if the invitation to bring a guest is not extended, the invitation is for you alone and you should not bring someone with you.

as a hostess, it is your choice to serve the guest, unless you have prepared a dish that serves only the # of people invited.

You should improvise and make room for your new guest, and make them feel welcome and thank them for coming.

Afterwards...Punch everyone in the face!LOL...

I'm just kidding don't do that last thing!
