My Dad has it and he's never smoked in 85 years . Any answers besides oxygen tanks ?

im not sure what you mean by any answers besides o2 tanks, but my uncle never smoked.. he got black lungs from being in the army... they gave him the chance to be put on a lung donor list, but he declined because it was a 50/50 chance and he believes the lord will take him when he is ready.... so now he is just waiting it out until the end...

alpha 1 antitrypsin deficiency is a cause of emphysema in non-smokers. I've read two different numbers on how often it causes emphysema - both <1% and 1-3%.

Air pollution and chronic exposure to airborne chemicals can do this as well.
