Fondue was big in the 60's and you can create stations with different fondues and dipping items. Include a chocolate fountain to choose from. Other items were the Cobb salad, which is filling. You can make individual servings and place them on Japanese soup spoons for an appetizer. Baked ham in coca cola sauce to slice and eat with mini apricot muffins is also good. For snacks: Fritos and cream cheese chili dip, pigs in a blanket, spinach dip in a bread bowl. For drinks: sangria!

Star Trek was a biggie, as was The Ed Sullivan Show (think the Beatles, Rolling Stones etc.) They also had the General Electric Theatre and showed movies. You could set up a wall with a white screen or sheet and show DVD's of 60's movies and reruns of Star Trek! The Day The Earth Stood Still, The Thing, Forbidden Planet, are all good choices. Also, The Invaders was a great and spooky series during that time.

The 60's was all " peace and love ". Do a web search for food. There are plenty of recipes out there, even for drinks. For dress ideas, it is a perfect time to get " Hippie " costumes. You'll find some ideas here...http://ww.costumeideazone.com http://www.mninternational.com
This site has some " alien " items you could give away as door prizes. http://ww.orientaltrading.com If you want some over the top decorations, look at the 60's stuff at this site. http://www.stumpsprom.com
