okay. I was wondering if any of your parents put anything in the dishwasher...well, ...that's NOT supposed to go in the dishwasher. My dad put in plastic spoons, and they melted all over the place. My friend's dad put paper cups in and they caught on fire..... LOL.... but still, have your parents ever done something like that.....and if so, what hapened??? Just wondering..... Have fun!!

I just have to really LAUGH VERY LOUD at this question!!!! You know why.......My mom and day didn't even know what a dishwasher was when I was at home because I am 55 years old!

I want to thank you for a very good laugh. I can now go to sleep with a smile on my face and a laugh in my heart.

Thank you so very much for putting the finishing touches on a great day!!

I hope your day was just as wonderful!

I (the parent) put a salmon wrapped in foil in the dishwasher with the dry cycle turned off - found a recipe that said it would work. I had to do two cycles but the salmon was pretty good. No soap in there and no other dishes. Kind of an expensive experiment, though.

I used to have a dishwasher that we referred to as my "home nuclear accelerator". It melted things that were supposedly unmeltable (you know, the expensive spatulas that are good to 500 degrees). It was an apartment sized one - so it was tiny but boil did I know everything was sterilized when it got through.

My Uncle put dish detergent, not dishWASHER detergent, into ours years ago. He didn't think there was a difference. There is. A big one at that. I had bubbles everywhere. What a nightmare at 12:30 at night!

I (a parent) put a plastic spatchula in my dishwasher and the pressure popped it off the rack and onto the heating coil. YIKES! Talk about a bad smell! I had to run it a few times to let the rest burn off. Needless to say, I had to get a new spatchula. LOL

I'm a parent. I put dishwashing liquid (like Dawn) in the dishwasher because I didn't have dishwasher detergent....BIG MISTAKE. Lots and lots and lots and lots of bubbles seeped out while it was running all over the kitchen floor!!

I lost my key to the laundry room in my apartment building one time and since I was a manager in a restuarant and only had 2 uniforms, I washed my uniforms in my dishwasher on the top rack. They came clean and since they were polyester, I hung them up to dry and was good to go. I will note that I did wash my blouses out by hand, they had to be starched and ironed. Hey, anything in a pinch.

Good question. Not dumb at all.

Yes - I used to put my glasses (from the optician kind) in all of the time, they come out gleaming and I COULD SEE FOR MILES........XXXX
