Ok so, I went to the doctors back in June, when this problem first started, and he said that I dont have herpes. He said its just some rash. But recently I just started to get a bump and a scab type thing on my penis? But the thing is, its not what herpes looks like? Ive also had a reaction to detergent lately and it caused my whole body to itch, so im not sure if that could be a part of it? Ughhh. What do you guys think?

Change detergent and get you some cortisone for your rash.Use a mild soap to wash with also. If that don't work go to a skin specialist.

Sadly, doctors are all too quick to dismiss patients who think they have herpes. Since 25% of us have type 2 and about 70% of us have type 1, it is not at all unlikely that we have it! It is your right to find out for sure.

What you have may or may not be herpes. But anytime you suspect you have been exposed to an STI you should have it checked out. Since you think you have been dealing with this problem since June, you can have a blood test to determine if you have herpes or not. Go back to the doctor and demand they give you a type specific blood test for herpes. You can also request that you are tested for other STDs as well. (you might as well since you are there!)

If the test is negative, then you will know for sure that it is something else. Then you can begin to determine what the real cause is. For you to be dealing with this for almost 4 months though is not acceptable. You deserve to have this treated no matter what the cause.

I went through the same agonizing question recentlyt only to find out I had an allergy to my laundry detergent and my soap. Of course I am a redhead and allergic to almost everything under the sun so I should have known better but I always thinks it is the worst first! You are probably fine!

It's unusual to get herpes from toilet seats but I don't think that it's impossible. I believe last time I looked about information on herpes it shows up somewhere around 7 or 14 days after exposure to the source.

For what you've said, it could be something to worry about or more than likely nothing to worry about.

If it goes away with a week, it was probably nothing. If it goes away and leaves a scar, you should see your doctor about it.

its more then likely the reaction you had with the detergent. i would rewash the clothes you washed with that particular detergent to get any residue out. then just let your scabs and things heal on their own. no picking or scratching as that could prolong the problem. also i hope you are wearing 100 percent cotton underwear as the synthetics can also give you problems!!!

So, Ive never heard of that condition. You may want to tell your doctor what is happening and ask him. He may have been wrong about having herpes or something.
