No, lack of sleep doesn't kill brain cells. Your brain is the only part of your body that CAN'T produce any more cells. So no, it doesn't stop your brain from producing any more cells.
Lack of sleep generally makes me tried (obviously), I can't concentrate, I have a hard time doing things I normally find easy etc..

I don't think so. I don't get much sleep on average and I think I got more functioning brain than your average person who sleeps 8 hours a day. But I know one thing that definitely kills your brain cells, it is called beer.

it doesnt kill brain cells ... sleep is a very important thing our body needs a certain amount to function it is also tied into the more sleep you get the less sick you get extra sleep builds a strong immune system, which will keep the viruses out .. new studies also show the more sleep you get the less likely you are to have other health issues as you age .. and lastly you will look younger like 5-7 yrs younger than everyone else if you sleep 7-8 hrs a night and take naps on weekends and you will look 5-7 yrs older if you start owing your body sleep and not paying up ... i watched a test on TV about this topic they took a healthy girl age 13 and made her stay up with coffee, and drugs ,, just to see the effects... after the first 2 days she was tired .. but still walking around .. day 3 she looked like a zombie her words were slurred and she looked like a crack addict .. after day 4 even after being loaded with stay awake meds ...your body will do its own thing ... your body will say * ok if your not going to shut down ,,, i have to protect you from doing any further damage to this body ... SO NOW I WILL TAKE YOU OUT !!! and thats just what happens .. she was in the middle of a conversation standing on 2 feet and she just fell to the floor.. after being broght to a bed she SLEPT FOR 44 HOURS ...
moral of the story your brain will let you stay up extra time but after a while it knows your hurting yourself ... and if you dont lay down ,,, your brain goes into last its last resort mode AND WILL SHUT YOU DOWN RIGHT WHERE YOU STAND ! and yes this is even if you are fully loaded with cafeinee and meds to stay awake your body will ignore everything ... and it makes a descion for you TO PROTECT ITSELF just remember your brain is set to protect itself .. which is why when you are standing on a cliff and you want to jump your brain is saying OHHH HELLL NOO we are not doing this ....it simply wont let you do it same with the sleep it simply wont let you keep staying up!
heop this lesson helps
