hi hunny, firstly congratulations on being pregnant. hope the pregnancy is going well. i have 4 children myself. youngest is 21 months old. when i was pregnant with her i got an awful sore throat and a cold. i was told by mt GP that it was not wise to take lemsip. but i do have a little remedy that i used. it is safe to take 2 paracetamol. but also get some traditional lemonade, the fizzy kind, a tea spoon of hunny and warm in the microwave till hot, bout 50 seconds, then stir and drink slowly. it will ease your sore throat, plus it has the added bonus of tasting quite nice. this remedy is like a lemsip, but without the all the other added ingredient's that are in lemsip. hope that helps hunny. wishing you all the best for you and the upcoming birth of your little bundle of joy. hope you feel better soon. take care xx

Hi, I'm pretty sure that lemsip is fine but the best way to find out is by reading the instruction leaflet enclosed in the box - ask the chemist. Anything like that in large consumption could cause a change in bowel movements (if you know what I mean), theres 3 options - phone nhs direct/go online, ask your gp (monday) or ask the chemist- the option I'd personally take.
Hope you feel better soon theres nothing worse that being congested and having a sore throat.
Take Care.

Lemsip and similar drinks are just paracetamol and sugar, drink plenty of orange juice, if baby lets you otherwise paracetamol and lots of hot tea/coffee, if baby lets you. You will soon find out if baby does`nt like juice, tea or coffee. Talk to a chemist they can advise you.

nicely, the media is making a huge deal relating to the swine flu, so everybody is questioning its rather undesirable. yet greater human beings die from familiar flu each and every three hundred and sixty 5 days than finished human beings contaminated by skill of swine flu. And the probabilities of dying from the flu are very, very small. As for the swine flu, as long as you have not got any underlying scientific situations that weaken your immune equipment, theres no longer something to rigidity approximately. in case you get it, merely wait until it is going away. you would be superb - that's in certainty a undesirable chilly.

It won't hurt you or baby, but the stuff is rubbish anyhow!!
Better off having a drink made of hot water, real lemon juice and a bit of sugar. And take a couple of paracetamol!

I am sure that this is fine you are allowed to take paracetamol when you are pregnant, alternatively make your own hot water, squeezed lemon and some honey.

I don't know, but drinking 23 Malibu and Cokes is usually a good way to get pregnant.

If you are able to get out of bed and type on the PC, then you don't have flu.
I thought it was only men who complained they had flu when they have a slight cold and sore throat? ;-)
Additional:
I guess the thumbs-downers have never had flu.
Wife (ex-nurse) says don't take Lemsip. It's not worth the risk. If you must take something, take a paracetamol.
