Since most people believe that God is everywhere and everything and has no body, what the hell does this mean about us being created within his own image, I thought the dude was a ghost?

Well not everyone believes God is just a floating spirit. I believe "God created man in his own image" means exactly that. But then again, in my religion, flesh and spirit are not two opposing sides that are at odds with each other either. We don't believe that with the fall, man's nature suddenly changed as though all creation failed. A creation by a perfect God simply cannot fail like that. God's will is greater than Satans. So there's no way Satan could have caused everything just to suddenly crash down, where God has to go refer to Jesus as a back up plan. That doesn't sound like God. We were, and still are, created in God's image. But that's a discussion for another time.
A soul consists of both body and spirit. And both are good, and both are essential. So God has a spirit, just as the Bible says. But he also has a body of flesh and bone just like us.
And that trinity stuff just doesn't make any sense.

It sounds like heavy on details. That's OK, but you don't have to accept it or even talk about it if it troubles you or anyone else. It is perfectly normal to be both a Catholic and go to some other religion for other purposes. Fellowship is an accepted need of people and important to the health of everyone. So if the Morman Religion is good for you, then so be it, but it does not mean you are not a Catholic. You just need to keep those feelings and convictions private for now if you think it would disturb others. Let them think what they want, but remember that there is a price that you must pay for what they give you. So pay it. The Catholic Church is not going to seek you out and punish you. In fact, they will welcome you as a member when you visit them.

You are a soul with a body. Your soul is that which is "you" it is unique. God is three persons in one. Each person is a character with a personality and a purpose slightly different from each other but the same in essence. Your image of God in you is expressed in the following attributes;
knowledge (God)
understanding (the Holy Spirit)
wisdom (The eternal Son of God - Jesus Christ)
If you have any doubt about this, I suggest you take a look in a Concordance and do a word study. The Bible is literally full of this message which with rare exception has been utterly ignored by the mainstream religious teachers. It is that which will make you free; and of course a free person with a relationship with the Triune God, cannot be controlled........

When God created Adam He created Adam into His image, when Adam disobeyed God in the garden of Eden, his image also changed. as Adam no longer could commune with God, as God is holy and sin and God cannot walk together. We have inherited that sinful nature from Adam, therefore we are no longer in the image of God. Unless of course you are without sin.
