my car broke down.the first time, it was a guy friend that came over to help move the car to my apparment when it wouldn't start.i need a new starter. my bf opts to fix it. i wait for a while but all i hear from my bf is, i need to help you fix the car. i make arrangements to get to fixed. i tell my bf about it and he says he has told me he will fix it. i tell him i know but he hasn't even looked at the car since it broke down for the second time and i need my car running. he said i need a starter, i need to get a starter. i told him my car is not running so i can't go get a starter. he told me to catch a bus and go to an auto part store and order one and he'll put it in for me. what can you say about this guy from his attitude towards this?

i am Completely independent. i pay for my everything and i handle my everything all by myself. i have never asked him for nothing and i do not need anything from him. i didn't even ask for help from him to fix my car. he opted to do it!

He should go to the auto shop and buy the starter not make you ride the bus and get it lol. I would say it's not high on his to do list to fix your car or to help you in anyway. Also I would dump him and go with guy friend(if available) he seems to want to help you therefore he cares about you.

why dont you just get your car fixed on your own and stop depending on other people to do it for you. Thats the only way sh gets done from my experience.
It sounds like your friends are busy and they dont have time to help, but they dont want to let you down.
On the other hand, if this is your boyfriend were talking about, hes kind of a jerk telling you to take a bus. If it is a boyfriend, tell his soft *** to take you to get the starter or he can go find some other tang.

I don't know how much your bf knows about cars but how does he know it needs a starter? Maybe it does. Maybe it doesn't. Just take it to a mechanic. If that seriously pisses him off, that's his problem. If he has a car and insisted on fixing it, why didn't he take you to go get a starter?

I hate to tell you, but I'm sure you're finding out slowly just what a jerk your b/f is. As you've already read in some of the responses, I too would have to agree with them, find a mechanic and a new b/f. Perhaps the mechanic might be a good replacement b/f????

i don't think i can see something wrong with ur bf. I guess it's you. Obviously his helping you to fix your car for free, all his asking from you is to get the parts for the car so he can able to fix it for you.
Otherwise go to mechanic and fix your car if you having trouble again. You just causing a little bit of drama just for this.
