A believer should marry only a believer. He should ask God's will when he takes any decision....

Honestly your metaphysical belief system plays a lot into your personal life...the part of you that you don't show many people but that you would want to share with your life mate. So I would say it's important to marry someone on your spiritual level if you want to grow together as soul.
As for children I don't think children need to be brought up in any system...they need to be taught ethics/morals to grow up in the society in which they live, and should learn to be helpful and caring toward others and not overly competitive. Don't fill in the blanks about the rest until they are old enough to really grasp the concept, then you know THEY chose the faith.

The believers suppose to be Sheep and the other a Goat, so as long as there is grass, I think it should be fine. The Children will therefore be call Shepat ( Atheist ) and will go for the blood of Sheep.

if a believer married an atheist and serving God was no longer their life's purpose, then how much of a believer could they be?
God is before ALL things...
their children will get to grow up in a house divided, never knowing peace and spiritual security...

I think that if one could love another from another background, they could change each others' beliefs through talking or such, and end up both as either Christians or atheists.
As for their children, it depends on what the parents want for them when they're young, but when the kids grow up, the parents should give their kids a choice to make on which religious paths they want to follow.

That is why in Scripture we as Christian believers are warned against allowing ourselves to be unequally yoked with non-believers (2 Corinthians 6:14)
"Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers [do not make mismated alliances with them or come under a different yoke with them, inconsistent with your faith]. For what partnership have right living and right standing with God with iniquity and lawlessness? Or how can light have fellowship with darkness?"

i used to wonder about that. the children in time would make up their own mind. but honestly i don't think an atheist could marry anyone but another atheist.

Your question makes me think of Madelyn Murray O'hare, I wonder if her husband was an Atheist, because despite her efforts in the end she died and her son Bill became a Christian Minister!

1 Corinthians 7:14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.
