My kids call it there **** or kitty kat, my cousins call it there kooter!!! Its really up 2 you. You can make up your own special little names, or let the kids call it what ever they want. I think it sounds better in public if you have your own little name for it so people dont no what your talking about.

I have called it a vagina from the time they were born. You don't call an arm anything other than arm so why would you the vagina and penis? The correct term is vulva but I did go with vagina. There is nothing wrong with it. It is a part of the body so call it what it is

Yes, it's a vagina - that's what women have. Why would you want to teach your kids some stupid madeup name? Women have breasts, a vulva, a vagina; boys/men have a penis and testicles.
A two year old is learning he has an arm, a knee, an ankle, a stomach, so should be learning the proper biological terms.
However, I can't for the life of me think of a situation where I would need to use a term for a woman's body part with a two year old!

we call it the vagina. that is what it is. there is nothing wrong the human body and knowing the correct terms for parts. When they are taught correctly from the start it is not a big deal. I don't think willy sounds any better than penis either. what if your son meets someone named Willy , then what is he going to say ,ask or think ? Always teach proper vocabulary.

The only thing I would say other than a vagina, because I strongly believe in using the correct term for body parts, is private or private area. Don't teach your son to be ashamed of nudity.

what on earth is wrong with calling it a vagina? and a penis a penis? because you don't want your son running around saying vagina? or penis? the body is a completely natural thing, why teach your children its not and that parts of it are to be avoided by name? its not as if they are actually interested in the mechanics of it so much yet, but he's learning language and how to interact on certain issues. be honest and straightforward.

I have only ever used the word "vagina". It's the correct term! Do you call a leg a "walking thingy" or a nose "a sniffer"? Use the correct medical terminology for all body parts, including penis. Why do genitals need nicknames anyway?

Vagina. For my husband- penis.
We don't give our arms or legs different names- so why our private parts?
Children who have made-up names for private parts tend to laugh and giggle. When the name is the same as the part- they do not. They shouldn't be afraid or ashamed to call it what it is.

Vagina. How many times is this really going to come up in conversation though? Nothing wrong with using the correct term. It's no different from elbow or toe. If you want a silly name to use, then just make one up.

We have taught our 2 year old daughter that her private part is a "vulva." I wouldn't call it a vagina because the vagina is not the external part that we see. It surprises me that so many men and women are confused about what and where the vagina actually is. Calling a woman's "vulva" a "vagina" is like like labeling a person's nose "nostril."
