Ok, here is a nice and specific question i need some clever muslims to help me with. It seems that, i have learnt from a muslim i've been chatting with. That Muslims and Christians, but not Jews, believe that Jesus was the Messiah and that he will come again. Is that a fact?

What i am wondering now though, is what happens when the messiah and the prophet muhammed disagree on an issue, how do muslims reconcile this, who is considered more right? how could one be more right than another.
Here is a specific example. The Qu-ran and therefore the Prophet Muhammed endorsed retributive justice, an eye for an eye. Jesus specifically taught that not even retributive justice is ok, he preached total pacifism. How could the annointed one have gotten it wrong?

Thankyou WW. So just to be clear on this. Basically, the solution is that if Jesus and Mohammed disagree then mohammed is definately right and jesus probably did not say the thing that is in contention? If muslims concede that the bible is untrustworthy, that there are too many transitions, why can the same not be sad for the Old Testament? How can muslims be so sure that Jesus even existed, let alone was the messiah, if the one collection of texts that pertain to his life and works is considered to be so contentious? If Muslims admit that jesus probably didn't say "turn the other cheek" (though it is feasible that he did) how can they then turn around and say that he came back from the dead (which is far less feasible)?

God, people like Suzy and conundrum annoy me. Do you actually read the questions and attempt to answer them or do you just post your rhetoric in any question in the religion and spirituality forum?

oh also;
I know the difference between 'messiah' and 'son of god'. I never mentioned son of god, i'm not interested in being preached to, i have a specific question, if you don't actually want to provide an answer to my specific question then just go to church please.

Also, to another answerer, assuming made an *** out of you that time, why even think that i have a 'holy book' or that i don't know that the bible has been edited- I know plenty about the history of the bible, i even know the guys name who compiled it. Have you ever heard of Eusebius? If not, don't lecture me, go to school.

yes Jesus (may peace be upon him) is the only prophet that had the holy spirit and never died and came from a mother without a father, his very existence is a miracle, and yes the messiah will come again.

the true Essence of Islam is to believe in the mighty one God and all his Prophets and holy books, all the Prophets that came before Mohammad (may peace be upon him) preached for the one God as he did, I'm not very good in religious stuff but all the Prophets had a unified message and the eye for an eye thing is a concept that existed since our master Adam came into being, eye for an eye is a form of justice but even in Islam to forgive is better if the wrong doing was not intentional or very harm full.

Did jesus really teach eye for an eye is bad or is that just what the revised bibles say. In islam people believe that jesus is a prophet just like mohammad is a prophet as well as the other hundreds of thousads of prophets that were guiders of the people. We do believe he was ascended and he will come back during "Armageddon" with our last imam , Mahdi.

If you want to compare teachings between religions you have to first look at your holy book and ask yourself if it's been edited. Sadly the bible is something that's been edited by any king who felt a part of it should be edited. So at the end we got a garbled bunch of revised stories that benefit the ruler of the era.

hye there...i may got something to help...jesus in Islam is actually a Prophet known as Isa Alaihi Salam...the story that we always here about is when jesusu sacrifice himself for the sack of mankind to repay the sins..but actually...Isa was exiled/crossed by his umat called bani israel and later saved by god and replaced by another person..by then..Isa will be the one who will save the world during the doomsday when Dajjal,a creature that will destroy the world except for the two holy cities which are Madinah and Mekah, then, right after that... we will be at the hereafter.

so...your question is whether Prophet Isa AS and Prophet Muhammad SAW will argue with each other or not...well, they will not because it is stated in the Al-Quran that there are no such thing as comparing the prophets. Except that Prophet Muhammad SAW is a special one because he is the last prophet and among the ulul azmi prophets which face high difficulties during their job desseminating Islam.

Islam had grown a far way from the time of Prophet Isa AS to Prophet Muhammad SAW.during those days before Prophet Muhammad SAW came...the religion is not called Islam yet but it is Hanif where solat and fasting is not yet compalsory.

Its a good thing for you to wonder for such question.
my advice for you is when you seek for information about islam...dont look at the people but look at the beauty of islam itself...many people call themselves muslim but not behaving as a muslim...there are the one who spoils the beauty...
to look for who are the real muslim is...try and search for the history of Muhammad SAW and also His followers...there are the role model of a true muslim.

i hope i'd answer your question...
peace be upon you...

Jesus Refuted even the Remotest Suggestion of his Divinity Consider the following incident mentioned in the Bible: "And behold, one came and said unto him, ‘Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?’ And he said unto him, ‘Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.’ " [The Bible, Mathew 19:16-17] Jesus (pbuh) did not say that to have the eternal life of paradise, man should believe in him as Almighty God or worship him as God, or believe that Jesus (pbuh) would die for his sins. On the contrary he said that the path to salvation was through keeping the commandments. It is indeed striking to note the difference between the words of Jesus Christ (pbuh) and the Christian dogma of salvation through the sacrifice of Jesus (pbuh).

Muslim Messiah

Based on Islam:
Jesus was the Messiah sent to the people of Israel.
Muhammed is the prophet sent to the whole world.

Based on Islam:
Jesus raised to heaven before the people of Israel got to him. God made their leader look like him, so they crucified their leader.

Jesus will return and kill the anti Christ.

Both Jesus and Muhammed have one message, it teaches that non is worthy of worship except God.

There will be no disagreement between them, because Jesus is also a Muslim, so is all prophets.

Jesus Never Promoted the Worship of Idols, but Mohammad did. That Meteorite that they Kiss in the Kaaba is Nothing short of Idolatry. Its Nonsense like that mentioned By Folk like Ahmed that Jesus was a Muslim. Mohammed converted the Kaaba which was a Pagan site into one where his kinsmen could congregate and worship an Idol.

Muslims don't believe that Jesus was God or the son of God. I think Muslims just think Jesus was a wise teacher. If Muslims believed that Jesus was the Christ/God/son of God, then Muslims wouldn't be Muslims. They'd be Christians.
