When there is a verse in the Bible that says :

The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

Ezekiel 18:20

OK! Assume Jesus died for their sin (those who believe that he is god).
Is that's why :

In Europe or USA or anywhere that Christians are majority :

1. Adultery is regarded as normal ----> Jesus died for that sin;
2. Weapons sold/ sell openly , so some idiots can also get hold of it and do killing as they wish---->Jesus died for that sin;
3. Homosexuality & bi sex, is common and accepted and practice by those believers ---->Jesus died for that sin;

4. Drink so much alcohol and get drunk ----> why not, it's fun, same above ,--> caused violence ---->Jesus died for that sin;

5. having mistress and lots of kids w/ no father or women being single parents is so common ---->Jesus died for that sin;
etc., etc. I can go on and on

Then the logic there is, God sent His son to save all human/mankind so they can do what they like .(as long as they are willing to believe that Jesus is God.????)

I dont think God Father is weird.
Sorry!!!! I cant accept, THE ONE WHO SENT Jesus down is weird.
We maybe weird, but not THAT ONE.
huh!!! tireeeedd!!

This question has been asked in one form or another ever since i have been coming to R&S site. And every time Christians will tell you the same thing, that the Bible tells us. But non believers still don't believe it and Christians still do. I don't think that will ever change in here.
As far as the verse you quoted. that is a passage about man, not about God or Jesus. Plus you have to read more than that one passage to understand what the writer is talking about.

If the verse is so clear to you then why did you ask the question. What does it matter to you what we think of that verse if you already know the answer?

You left out the rest. I believe Jesus died for my sins, the Bible is clear and it does not contradict itself, but it takes an amount of studying it, to understand it.

Ezekiel 18:20-32
20 The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.
21 “But if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. 22 None of the transgressions which he has committed shall be remembered against him; because of the righteousness which he has done, he shall live. 23 Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?” says the Lord GOD, “and not that he should turn from his ways and live?
24 “But when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All the righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; because of the unfaithfulness of which he is guilty and the sin which he has committed, because of them he shall die.
25 “Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not fair.’ Hear now, O house of Israel, is it not My way which is fair, and your ways which are not fair? 26 When a righteous man turns away from his righteousness, commits iniquity, and dies in it, it is because of the iniquity which he has done that he dies. 27 Again, when a wicked man turns away from the wickedness which he committed, and does what is lawful and right, he preserves himself alive. 28 Because he considers and turns away from all the transgressions which he committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die. 29 Yet the house of Israel says, ‘The way of the Lord is not fair.’ O house of Israel, is it not My ways which are fair, and your ways which are not fair?
30 “Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways,” says the Lord GOD. “Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin. 31 Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O house of Israel? 32 For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” says the Lord GOD. “Therefore turn and live!”

There are two types of sin:

1. The sin the we inherited from Adam and Eve
2. The willful sin we control with our free will. After this sin is committed, if we are genuinely repentant, we can ask for forgiveness through and it would be given to us

When a Christian is "born again," they are dedicating their life to God with the promise that they will not willfully sin again. However, this does not erase the original sin. There are only two things that will erase this sin, death or the blood of the Lamb, Jesus. For those who would never taste death, the survivors of the war of Armageddon, Jesus death covers for them.

Hebrew 9:26-28
He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Messiah was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.

why do people love to take scripture out of context??? stop using the holey bible with the parts you like and start using the HOLY Bible with everything left in!

taken IN CONTEXT:

ezekiel 18: 14-22
14 “But suppose that sinful son, in turn, has a son who sees his father’s wickedness and decides against that kind of life. 15 This son refuses to worship idols on the mountains and does not commit adultery. 16 He does not exploit the poor, but instead is fair to debtors and does not rob them. He gives food to the hungry and provides clothes for the needy. 17 He helps the poor, does not lend money at interest, and obeys all my regulations and decrees. Such a person will not die because of his father’s sins; he will surely live. 18 But the father will die for his many sins—for being cruel, robbing people, and doing what was clearly wrong among his people.

19 “‘What?’ you ask. ‘Doesn’t the child pay for the parent’s sins?’ No! For if the child does what is just and right and keeps my decrees, that child will surely live. 20 The person who sins is the one who will die. The child will not be punished for the parent’s sins, and the parent will not be punished for the child’s sins. Righteous people will be rewarded for their own righteous behavior, and wicked people will be punished for their own wickedness. 21 But if wicked people turn away from all their sins and begin to obey my decrees and do what is just and right, they will surely live and not die. 22 All their past sins will be forgotten, and they will live because of the righteous things they have done.

Jesus did not die for anybody. He was killed because the masses could not hear the truth. Just like today.
That wonderful old saying you've quoted was stolen by the ignorant Christians and they turned it into their own special version of b.s.
The saying actually has to do with Karma -the karma of humanity as a whole. What we don't face up to in this life has to be dealt with by someone else. It is not personal, nor is it blood -line related.

1) It also says the sins of the fathers are passed on to future generations

2) The Jewish law said that an animal could be sacrificed for our transgressions.

Jesus is merely the lamb that atones for our sins. My sins do not become "his sins", so I do bear my own sins but through Christ atonement for sins can be found.

Read the whole bible, don't just pick out verses. Get yourself a New Living translation, it is written in plain modern English.
