2 7 off suit is technically the worst hand preflop. AA is the best hand preflop in every situation.

The real worst hand is KJ and A10. If you have 27o you will just fold it preflop. Even if you are on the bb and you get a free flop and you flop top pair you will fold it quite easily since you will rarely flop top pair. When you have hands like KJ or A10 you're like i have a king and an ace so my hand is good!, but your kicker is quite weak and you are so often dominated by hands like KQ, AK, AJ, and AQ. Remember, you want the best hand. 2nd best wins nothing :(

2, 7 off suit is the worst I think. 2, 7 off suit is the worst hand because! You can not make a straight with it, you can not make a flush with it and you do not have a pair.
Plus you have a low card if it comes down to comparison of your cards.

A pair is always good, especially when it's AA.
It also depends on the game your playing, but yeah AA is a pretty darn lucky draw. AA is good because, a pair is always a good start in any poker game. It's solid, it's nothing spectacular just a nice hand that can give some incredible results, ie. AAA.

I myself hate trap hands like Q-J, A-10, J-10, 9-10 suited, and K-10. I have went broke with these hands more then any other hand in poker. You call a small pre-flop raise in good position with K-Q and the flop comes out Q-Q-2. So you end up getting in all your chips on the flop, only to have the other guy turn over A-Q. As for aces i will take them all day long, even though aces are the best hand pre-flop, after the flop they can be beat, plus they are only 1 pair, and the average winning hand is two pair. Aces are hard to fold for most players. I would rather have a hand like A-K, this way if i miss the flop i can fold it with out much worry at all.

Technically 7-2 off suit is the worst hand.....but.....The worst hand to involved in is the second best hand, you will lose a lot more money with this than you will 7-2. If you knew even slightly the hand values in poker, 7-2 would be folded nearly everytime so your'e not gonna to lose too much of your cash, whereas the second best hand could look good and entice you to bet, bet, bet and all of a sudden your chips have disappeared. Pay attention to other players and dont get caught in this trap.

7 2 offsuit, simply because both are very low cards, yet far apart. In playing poker, you are told to fold 99% of the time when you get this hand.

A A is of course the best hand. People go all in simply because they have this hand. The exactly probability of winning with AA is in 40-50% range (very good)

TECHNICAL:

To the guy below me: FYI you CAN make a straight with it, and you CAN make a flush with it. Remember that both a straight and flush only require 5 cards. (2,3,4,5,6,7 is possible, although highly unlikely) You could even get a straight flush. (2D, 3D, 4D, 5D, 6D for example, even though your starting hand was 2D, 7H)

Does this clarify things?

A 2 and a 7 off suited is indeed a poor hand. But normally you'd fold with it and get off cheaply.

The worst hand in poker is the second-best one.

The worst hands are the hands that people call and if you connect on the flop there is a very good chance you are still behind.
This is Ace and anything less than a 9 or King and anything less than a 9 .

7 2 or 8 3 off suit are definately not the worst hands as you know what to do with these - fold them and you lose no money.

The worst hands are those that an inexperienced player thinks are good and potentially lose you loads of cash.
