If he was going to die for our sins, why didn't he turn himself in and do it? Did he really have a choice in the matter? Oh sure, he could have climbed down from the cross, he just didn't want to. Well, monkeys can fly out of my butt, they just don't want to.

You seem to want an answer to something that is probably unknowable. Are you seeking an expert in the unknowable?

According to the Bible the answer to your main question is "both". But remember that we don't even know if Jesus or God existed/exist.

You and your monkeys will not have to endure Jesus you will be separated from Him for eternity, just as you denied Him, He shall deny you before His Father. You shall have entertainment I'm sure what with all the fireworks and monkeys jumping in and out of your butt. I will pray that you and non believers like you have an awakening and pray for forgiveness and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Open a Bible and read instead of listening to the endless babble on Yahoo. Go to the Bible get the truth so no one can deceive you, if you wish to argue at least you will have knowledge of what you are conversing about. God Bless you.

He was arrested by guards from the High Priest. He was tortured and executed by the Romans. He died for the sin of all mankind.
By coming to Earth he was allowing Himself to be caught - same thing as turning yourself in.
We know He had a choice in the matter from the prayers in Gethsemane, and the dialog with Pilate.
These are great questions, but I'm not sure I can do them justice in just these few short lines. Hi kimmy....

If you would read the Bible you would know this Is Blasphemous. Jesus died for the sins of ALL humanity. Jesus asked God to remove the cup from Him because He knew what He was facing. But Jesus said Not My will be done but Yours (God's). He had to go to the cross to buy back man's dominion from satan. Adam bowed to satan In the garden of Eden when he ate from the tree of knowledge. Know your Bible facts before making such a statement. It's not too late to repent...Jesus loves you.

Jesus did die for our sins - he chose to- but he was caught and executed by the Jews because they did not believe that Jesus was who he said he was (that he was God). It was prophesied hundreds of years earlier that it would happen this way and he chose to die for us because he loved us and wanted to make a way for us to get to heaven (the bible says the ONLY way to get to heaven is by believing that Jesus is God). Before he died on the cross, the Jews had to sacrifice pure lambs for their sins, but Jesus took the place of all future sacrifices (that is why he is called "The Lamb of God").

He could have climbed down from the cross but chose not to because he loved us and wanted to make a way for us to get to heaven. Whereas Jesus really could have climbed down from the cross, monkeys really cannot fly out of your butt.

If you'd like to read more, I suggest the book of John in the Bible.

He struggled with the choice he had to make. But ultimately, he obeyed God. If the creator of the universe saw fit to do it the way he did, do you really think we know enough to second guess his reasons?
Maybe he did it that way just so you would ask this question 2007 years later and have his story spread to a few more people.

IF monkeys can fly out of your butt you really should be on TV. Or are you lying to us the same way Satan is lying to you??? I had a family member who did not believe in Jesus either until he had a life after death experiance. This changed his life and he became a believer. I hope that you get the same chance. It would be a terrible thing to loose your soul to a liar.

He died for us because if he didnt, all of our sins couldnt not be forgiven, and thus, we would ALL burn in hell. he didnt turn himself in because he and God had a plan all set out. and He didnt climb down from the cross so that our sins would be forgiven and , like i said before, we wouldnt go to hell.

BTW its not nice to ask questions to which the answers are already written plainly out in the most sold book of all time.
