Claritin OTC, and Clarinex which requires prescription, expensive, works great. Like Claritin has minimal to no side effects, yet is much more effective for persons w/moderate to severe allergies.

claritin! but the active ingredient is 10mg of loratadine, an antihistamine. try buying the store brand (target or walmart or wherever you go) to save you lots of cash! :D
edit: in response to the person below me, there is also claritin-D which has a decongestant in it, which is sold behind the counter, as is the original sudafed (also a decongestant). just claritin (without the decongestant) is not sold behind the counter. and i would think a pharmacy tech would know how to spell claritin!

I agree with the others, I think you are referring to Claritin D. By the way, they are now located behind the counter (so you will have to ask your pharmacist, although you do not need a prescription). I am including a link to their website which includes their savings link (many manufacturers allow you to periodically print money-saving coupons). I hope this helps.

Claritan or Clarinex. Claritan is now over-the-counter, Clarinex is still prescription only.
And someone said "it's not anti-allergy pills". Thought they may be marketed as allergy medications, they really are anti-allergy drugs - like antihistamine (against histamines) antibiotics (against microbial growths) antacids (or anti-acids, against acids), etc.

Chlorpheniramine? Claratin is another. Claratin is a brand name for loratadine. Chlorpheniramine is the generic name for antihistamine drugs such as Chlor-Trimeton, Allerest, Dallergy, PediaCare, Rynatan, and Triaminic.

Claratin, which most arn't aware that it is now only sold behind a pharmacy counter. I'm a pharmacy tech and it's a law that it must be behind the counter to limited the number of packages a month to a customer.

Claritin is the brand name but the actual drug name is loratadine and can be bought as a no-name product a lot cheaper (and its exactly the same thing).
