It could be 28 minutes from now or 280 years from now. When the superpowers square off against each other in two camps, then come back and we'll talk world war.

Until then, just think regional conflicts, wars between rump states, proxy wars and brinksmanship. If you recall the Yom Kippur War in 1973, a coalition of Arab States (Egypt, Syria and Jordan) were soundly defeated by the Israelis. That was a worse situation than the current conflict and it didn't raise a blip on the world war radar (not that it didn't have the potential to spark a global war).

The next World War will involve a nuclear exchange, how could it not. In the first 30 minutes, nearly a billion people will have been vaporised, mostly in the US, Russia, Europe, China and Japan. Another 1.5 billion will die shortly thereafter from radiation poisoning. The northern hemisphere will be plunged into prolonged agony and barbarity.

Eventually the nuclear winter will spread to the southern hemisphere and all plant life will die. You ask when is the apacolypse, you are asking when will we commit global suicide. My answer is it won't happen soon because the larger superpowers are more rational than the rump states in the middle east.

Our biggest risk is an accidental launch of nukes by one of the nuclear powers.

There is a theory that the first half of the 21st century will see a series of "oil wars" - the first of which has been underway for a few years already.

As the oil runs out over the next 50 years we're likely to see increasing conflict over control of the remaining reserves.

I think there's some merit in this view, and its fairly probable - but far from certain.

The failure of the US to effectively secure Iraq's oil despite the initial military success makes it less likely that they'll try this again - but when the inevitable Saudi Arabian revolution arrives we may well see US troops going in to support the princes against the people.

A single major conflict between two distinct alliances, as the first two world wars were, seems unlikely - as does widespread use of nuclear weapons - except as threats - the use to which they've been put constantly since 1945.

However, if either of these were to happen, the most likely scenario would be China + allies Vs US + allies.

The Russians would be fairly likely to determine the outcome - not only are the physically located between the two superpowers, but also their military strength is probably enough now to tip the balance in either direction - I wouldn't like to hazard a guess as to how long it will stay that way.

the war between the west and radical islam is the third world war . it is the stated goal of iran and other arab countries that israel must be wiped off of the face of the earth .the united states wil never allow this to happen. in most middle eastern schools israel is not on the maps, the holocaust never occurred and the u.s.is big satan.
this is a global war and typical of how the last two started .as one nation after another gets on board through atrocities committed or perceived by the other side it is only a matter of time before the whole world is involved .and pity the poor nations as they will be the first to suffer exploitation of their resources especially african nations.then you add to the mix n.korea china and the nuclear capable nations of the former ussr and you got a true recipe for disaster.
may god have mercy on our souls because our enemies won't.

Our third world war has already begun and many people and governments are joining in the war to fight to save our planet. We all need to join this war together to save our planet. As many people and prophets predicted the third world war would be one without weapons and will effect every living thing on planet earth. This third war is our most important war to win for everyone.

it all depends on world events, and the actions and intentions of the players involved, so WWIII could be distant one day and at your doorstep the next. right now, i'd have to say the most likely scenarios for war would be between us and China over trade or an invasion of Taiwan, the Spratleys, etc., or another Middle Eastern fight to destroy Israel that suddenly involves the US, NATO, Russia, and China due to nukes, oil, etc. idk, it's all hypothetical

Super close! It was planned in 1871.All the chaos in the Middle East is taking place as the illuminati masterminds planned it,so it is a safe bet to say we are a few years away from WW III including nuclear weapons.
