You knew you were going to be all right despite the fact that you could be killed? So everyone thought you were kind of strange afterwards because you just weren't that upset about it?

this has happened to me before when i've been in dangerous situations. and sometimes i might be driving and i have this strange sensation that some accident "passed me by." like for a moment i felt like i was supposed to be in an accident but that something altered the circumstances and nothing at all happens. but the feeling is so compelling.

in the heart ward on oxygen, i accepted the possibility of death but knew at a deep internal level I would live and I strongly believed that i would live if I refused surgery and die if i let them operate. I had an awareness of how much my body and spirit could handle. It is now 19 years later. i have lost over 100lbs and gotten my diabetes under good management and had no further problem with my heart. had to go with my gut. Right decision for me. Might not be for anyone else.

Everybody except my Mother thought I was acting strange. The heart surgeon ordered a psychiatric consult and thought I would be found incompetent and my Mother could then take over as my guardian and get me the surgery
I was 45 at the time.

I died twice, after a wreck in surgery. I was not the same person afterward. I was not sure I was really there, alive, for a long time. When I finally started to be okay my ex took me on a hell journey. We ended up in a little cabin 10 miles up a mountain, across the country. That's where he took it upon himself to beat me at least every three days. He tried to kill me several times up there but, I somehow knew that I would be coming down the mountain. Don't ask me how. I just knew there was some reason I survived the wreck, and it was not to be a punching bag.

Death and I have looked across the table at each other on a few occasions:

At age five, died for no apparent reason, resuscitated at hospital.
Age 26,Drowning in the ocean.
Age 48, Rolling my truck on an icy mountain road, crushing the cab

Anyone who knows me, knows that under the best of times I act a little strange.

I've had TWO NDE's in my life. the First was when I was in viet Nam and my Vessel was hit and sunk in the Makong River. Actually most of the boat was STILL Above water but was grounded on the bottom. We lost more than half of the crew and I had a serious chest wound. I thought that I would survive it but had lost a lot of blood and lost consciousness several times. Woke up in the Hospital in Hong Kong. Never thought that I would die but actually went flat line several times.

The second time I was wroking on my car and it rolled onto my chest. fortunately my friends were nearby and managed to free me but I was under there for about 10 minutes and I actually thought I was going to check out then. I was pleasantly surpriesed to wake up in the Hospital after that one.

1972 was a VERY strange year for me, One that almost cost me my life TWICE! Yet, somehow I managed to survive it and am still here. I guess ol' Death decided that it wasn't time for me to be roaming around in HIS backyard, yet.

Once. Working with Military Police - guy stoned WAY out of his mind thougth it would be funny to put a 9mm right between my eyes.

Scared out of my wits, but knew that wasn't the moment. Don't know how, or why, just knew.

YES!

I was six months away from dying due to alcohol addiction. I was only 24 at the time and knew that there was more time. In the end the Lord miraculously healed and delivered me. I'm still alive five years later and haven't had a drop of alcohol. No withdrawals, no rehab, just Jesus.

Well, I almost bled to death and as a nurse I knew I was in serious trouble and what was happening. So I guess I did.

I've seen death in his eyes several times, but never had any thoughts during the time. If I had, I would have been dead...
