Notice in public schools they teach we are just an accident(big bang, evolution),BUT,then they teach about self-esteem?
They teach that we are just animals(evolution once again),then wonder why the students behave like animals?
They teach that there is no God(evolution once again),then blame God when students are shot in school?

BTW--God is not allowed in schools anymore,so don't expect Him to help keep kids from being shot.

Pretty good points there. Isn't it odd that some people will say they don't believe in God and in the next breath, blame God for anything that goes wrong. If a person is going to show displeasure and place blame on God then they would have to feel that God exists. You can't blame something or someone that doesn't even exist in the first place. A person puts God to blame for the bad things but seldom, if ever, gives God thanks and praise for the good things. I'd like to see a VERY through evolution class in school going WAY back and show students that animals are actually in their family tree. Evolution seems to portray this kind of thing. It might be interesting if the teacher were make it a class assignment that would display this. It's not going to happen, for one reason being, because it isn't true 1. It's false. 2. I wonder if the students (all people as far as that goes) would agree and feel that it's true. Or, would there be an outcry?

That's just flat out ridiculous. I knew this would be a ridiculous question but I just couldn't help myself. What does evolution have to do with having self-esteem or acting like a rational human being? Let's see...nothing! And evolution doesn't teach that there is no god. Evolution has absolutely NOTHING to do with god or religion! Evolution is SCIENCE, not RELIGION! And I highly doubt that all the kids who have brought guns to school to shoot other kids would consider themselves atheist. You're just one of those people that like to blame everything bad that happens on people whose beliefs are different that yours.

So you want kids to learn not what the truth is (or the prevailing scientific theory) but what you believe will get them to behave the best? How ridiculous. And by the way, as a student in school, I strongly believed in evolution and that humans are primates, just like Chimpanzees and Gorillas. And yet my self-esteem was high and I didn't behave like an "animal." How do you explain that?

Wow you pulled a lot of BS out of... wait, how can you fit so much BS in your *rse?

Fact: the Big Bang theory does not say that we were an "accident"
Another fact: we ARE animals, by definition. Don't be so arrogant.
Schools do NOT teach that there is no god (gov. funded schools, anyway).

Do actually have the audacity to believe that your religion's mythology is true? And do you also believe that the historical accuracy of your mythology contributes to the legitimacy of your belief in a deity? Don't be so naive.

There are so many lies in this "question" that is more of a rant.

Public schools do not teach there is no God. They are not to indoctrinate about religion one way or another. They are supposed to actually honor the rights of PARENTS to determine what their children are taught about religion.

There are large Student Christian Associations on thousands of public school campuses that meet on school grounds every day across the United States.

What good did a government edict to begin each school day with Christian prayer do for the morals of Nazi Germany and each country the Nazis occupied?

Thank God the United States has a Constitution that respects the religious freedom and freedom for those who wish to not worship, too. Even atheists have rights.

Evolution does not address the issue of a God one way or another.

I'm thankful public schools are teaching our children that they are animals. They're not vegetables or minerals. We are mammals.
I cannot help but wonder if you are a child who hasn't taken biology yet or a drop-out?

As Long as the refutation of these 'alleged' Contradictions are taught. that Blast every one of those to bits Like the 1st one Gen 1:31, (easily refuted) When God pronounced the creation good, He really meant it. At the time, it was entirely good; there was no death or decay on earth at all. Gen 6:6 The Lord was sorry that He had made man . . . He was grieved in His heart: God’s sorrow at man, and the grief in His heart, are striking. This does not mean that creation was out of control, nor does it mean that God hoped for something better but was unable to achieve it. God knew all along that this was how things would turn out, but our text tells us loud and clear that as God sees His plan for the ages unfold, it affects Him. God is not unfeeling in the face of human sin and rebellion. The rest can be easily refuted, one at a time, If you care to take that Challenge.

you are using they as a generalization how do you know the individuals that are asked their opinions on school violence aren't religous, evolution does say we're animals but common courtesy and ettiquette are commonly practiced and we don't wonder why we act like animals, thats how things are we just hope that we can fake being better than animals to progress in the race of existance, we teach self-esteem because like it or not we were an accident so we can just mope like a bunch of idiots about it or we can make something of ourselves religion has nothing to do with self-esteem, and FINALLY! if god is so omnipotent why does he have to listen to our human laws if there was a god he could waltz into the schools anytime we just kept our children from being forced into religion (you have the moment of silence you can pray then) so god is not forced out if he exists he doesn't have to follow our laws and you can pray any time you want to we just dont force it on children anymore

you think the big bang and evolution are accidents? interesting.

highly evolved animals. no need to wonder why students behave like animals... just blame the parents.

no proof that a god exists. who blames your god when students are shot in school?

do you really think your god has anything to do with people being shot? i thought you christians believed in "free will".

When I was a kid in school there was prayer and I saw one of my friends shot at school!

Don't you realize the world is not getting worse? There isn't more violence, kids being abused, or kidnapped, than there use to be. We have more TV stations with AROUND THE WORLD, 24 hour coverage! There is more competition out there to get people to watch, listen and read the NEWS!

It use to be 3 TV stations with morning and evening news one hour each, One local News paper (in most towns).
It is all about COMPETITION, now more than ever!

Wasn't a basic lesson in school about casual factors? That is to say that given A and B and C happens, you really need to prove that A and/or B are indeed related to and caused C?

Now soceity is way more complex than A and B so there are way more possible factors. Consider that many more educated societies with a higher relative amount of atheists have significantly less violent crime than ours.
