Here are a couple of good websites on runes
http://www.sunnyway.com/runes/
http://www.tarahill.com/runes/
I'm not keen on how the second page does runic divination.
Research the runes carefully before you use them. They are very powerful and not something you want to just play at.

Runes are not "cool stuff". They are a powerful means of writing and divination. The name "rune" means a secret, which was paid for in a huge sacrifice so we can now have.
Please, treat the runes with respect, not as a casual ornament. If you just want a pretty symbol, get any of the fantasy symbols of Tolkien's tengwar or anything like that.
If you're, however, going to deal with real runes, please learn their meanings, contemplate on them and grant them the respect they deserve.
Here are two pages for you to explore:

We prefer you know what you are using the runes for and what they mean. They were a gift from the gods. But feel free to research them. There are several alphabets and yes they represent words in a way.

The runes are more than just "cool stuff". They have strong religious meanings to some Asatrur/Heathens.
Runes are not full words. They are more like letters....

There are a lot of good books on runes out there. Try Llewellen's website. It's great and will probably have what you need.
Also, just for fun, look up the Heavener Runestone. I grew up in this town and it is fascinating to see these ancient runes carved in that huge stone! ... Blessings!
