Hyde Park Steak House is very good but also very expensive. I find that small Italian restaurants can often be a more enjoyable experience and more reasonably priced. One of the best is 'Stino da Napoli in Rocky River, OH. My brother that lives in Houston, TX loves to go there when he's here in the Cleveland, OH area.

Well in California: Sergio's Trattoria in San Ramon, Swagat Indian restaurant in Concord, and Pasta Pomodoro in Oakland or Concord.

I'm not big on Italian since I don't eat pasta or bread but Carraba's has a great grille menu that has some nice-tasting chicken. I tried their meatballs and they looked to be fresh & not frozen-half-breading-balls-of-junk.
Now, I may be crazy but just because they're cheap doesn't mean they're not the best-another good one is any local (and goodstanding) chinese buffet. I can never get enough of those terriyaki chicken sticks, bourbon chicken, or chicken wings.
