There is hope for you if you are wanting her to find her thumb. My son who is three months old appeared to be the same way until this past week. He has found his thumb and my nipples are sighing a sigh of relief as he has a great need to suck and they have, up until this point, been the only thing that he has been sucking on. So possibly your daughter will find her thumb in the near future too.

She may or may not be a thumb sucker. Right now, she's probly just "exploring." Seeing what she can fit in her mouth and such. My daughter was constantly trying to stick her whole fist in her mouth at that age.
If you keep offering her the binky, she will probably take to that before she becomes addicted to her thumb. My daughter wouldnt take one until she was 4 months old but after that, she had one in her mouth and one in her hand until she was 2!

I have no clue. I wouldnt worry too much about it now. She is young. She may just do that as part of her being comfortable. She may out grow it. Neither of my children were thumb suckers. And if by chance she does end up a thumb sucker, until she begins to grow teeth, I would not worry about it at all. When she begins to grow teeth it may pose as a future potential dental problem.

Good luck.

she will find her thumb in no time!
my daughter sucked her hands (and everything else) all the time! i started offering her the pacifer all the time until she took to it! if you don't want your daughter to suck her thumb i suggest keeping on her by giving her a soother all the time!
they are MUCH easier to break a habit of than a thumb which cannot be taken away!
if you don't care if she sucks her hands and want her to suck her thumb just give her a bit of time and she will find it but i warn you once she does its a hard habit to break!

Sucking on her hand does not always mean a thumb sucker. Babies always do that.

My son sucked on his hand, but he never sucked his thumb and didn't really get "addicted" to a binky either. Could be at least partly because I nursed him until he was two, but I was happy that he didn't develop either habit.
