With so many subjective choices, are we really to believe that all things to be considered sins will indefinitely send you to hell? Is that at all realistic? Who determines the line between right and wrong?

You my friend are brilliant. You have seen the reasoning that many others have yet to even come close to experiencing.

The fact that the line between right and wrong is not for anyone to decide. We as mortal beings have no right to decide. We are only capable of witnessing events in our own lifetimes. Thus, how can we conclude on such little evidence, the difference between right and wrong based on our little time here, in relevance to the existence of the world? We can't.

It's funny, people describe the bible as the final word of authority. The bible was written by Men. Men who were just as ordinary as anyone is today. So who were they to decide, being simple mortals themselves, the difference and breaking point between right and wrong.

In truth, ultimately, we don't know what is right and what is wrong. We can guess, because we have that capability of establishing short term principles to govern the way we treat one another. However, our conclusions based on morality only come from a limited source. A temporary source at that.

It is totally subjective, relative, and more words of the same meaning. In the end only "God" can judge, so we need to stop pointing fingers and just keep on living based on the shared coexistence rather than the differentiating modes of morality.

The Bible tells us what God considers sin.
God determines right and wrong because He can only be Perfect. Sin and un-repentance is what will send you to Hell. However, forgiveness and repentance is how God will allow you into Heaven.

Go by the teachings directly expressed in the Bible. If it says it's wrong, it's wrong. If it's not specifically addressed in the Bible, study the teachings and go by principle.

2 Tim 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Since God is Love and part of him resides inside of you there is no wrong choice. Each choice is merely another lesson to be learned.

Sin is rebellion against God. Anything done against His laws, design, and will is sin.
God already determined between right and wrong.
We are to follow it.

And who determines what god is and thinks . Perhaps we should settle for reality as the basis of such judgments .

No one can judge. That is a psychological issue when people have a strong 'superego'. That person will create ridged morals and will become bitter because they can for fill their impulses. So they attack other people.
