As for the person who said they are against the war why should they let them film.
Becuase it is discrimination not to. Would it be ok for them not to let christians film becuase they are against christians or would it be ok for them to not let muslims not film becuase they are muslims.
This is a goverment run department that refused it. They are not their to impose their own personal beliefs they are there only to decide if wht is being done is legal and safe. She stated her reason was becuase of rush hour traffic but as the police said it was done mant times before during rush hour when anti war protesters wanted to use the same street.
They ban the rotc Thus they take the freedom of choice away from their people who live there. They stopped a navy ship from docking.
like I said this woman's job was not to impose her beliefs in her decision. She had guidlines to go from. Is the activity legal and safe if it met those guidlines then she is suppose to grant the permission. She should be fired for it.
These are the same people who defend the terrorist, but the irony is that if a insurgent had the choice between cutting the head off of a conservative republican or a liberal gay pride parade marcher they would pick the liberal 100 out of 100 times.
The people of san fran are hated by the very people they defend and they hate the very people who defent them

You must remember that this is the same City that also denied the Marines permit to film at the Golden gate bridge denied allowing the USS Iowa being docked there as a Memorial and has tried repeatedly to stop the Blue Angles from performing during Fleet Week

SF is a sound, sane, progressive city that promotes free speech for everyone, so long as those people agree with multi-sexual, Anti-American values. So, if you work for a living, have a happy life and family, and are proud of your country, stay out. If you collect a government check, loathe the principles on which this country was founded, and have devious sexual practices, come on down...
Examples of welcome parties:
ACLU, NAMBLA, The Socialist Party of America, The Gavin Newsom Adultery Association
Examples of unwelcome parties:
Heterosexual white males, Republicans, The Marine Corps, Christians
Hope that helps to clarify any confusion.

Being a film maker , I know of the huge costs involved to film in certain locations around San Francisco. Being an ex pat from the US now living in Australia, there is a much bigger picture that isn't being looked at why the refusal of this commercial being made in San Francisco. You mentioned why do gays get access well, San Francisco is world wide known for it's large gay, hippy, artistic, anti war open and like minded cultural community. Which makes this US city unique for tourists and visitors from all over the world.
The US military have always discriminated these people due to there alturnitive lifestyles and being anti gay. With the US military wanting to make a TV commercial in the center of a community which they totally discriminate, a retarded monkey on a tire swing could work out why they were refused to make a commercial in San Francisco. I sure wouldn't sign up to be part of the film crew to film this commercial which could start a full scale anti homophobic discrimination riot in the street with the local people of San Francisco. This would be the real truth why the producers of this commercial were refused a permit to film the commercial.

Because the people of San Francisco hate the military. That's the simplest way to put it. They also don't realize that in the middle east a lot of them would face execution.

It's Francisco.
The reason why the Marines ain't allowed to shoot their commercial there, is because, San Francisco is a liberal city, and is against the Iraq War. (If you want to call it a war)

San Francisco (note the proper spelling of the name) is against the war in Iraq. So why would they allow the filming of a commercial that will be used to entice young men and women to their deaths?
I don't understand, though, the question about who I'd rather have defend me. Regardless of how I many feel about the war, I still pay my taxes and those taxes are used for military purposes. And what kind of country would this be if some could pick and choose who would be defended?

The people of San Francisco are too busy enjoying the smell of their own farts to respect the people who protect their right to do so.
