I wouldn't try learning it on this site. The general standard of grammar, punctuation and spelling is shocking!

ShawnLacey, who rattled your cage? We were speaking English in Britain for hundreds of years before America was even discovered. Over the years Americans have corrupted the English language, spoken and written. So don't tell us that mid-western Americans speak the best English!

Oh and to the asker, try to find the BBC World Service on the Radio. You'll hear news, sport and current events broadcast in PROPER English which may be helpful to you.

Here are some really good tips to make you a star:
_Spend time in Yahoo answers. It's a very good practice.
_Start e-mailing with someone from another country. Try to find an English pen-pal for better results.
_Travel to England for your summer holidays. You can also meet some people there who can be your next pen-pals.
_Watch american movies on TV, and read the subtitles as well.
_Surf only english sites on the Net, not of your mother tongue.
_Look up the dictionary.

If you don't know any English speaking people and you can't get to lessons the next best thing to do is read as much as you can. Classic books rather than modern works are usually better written. And television can also help with how the language works too.
Some people with English as their first language should try this too!

I could only add to open up your email so people can write and put your language, even personal information on your profile as some one might want to help, but it would be good if they spoke your language as well for pen pals. I wouldn't expect anyone to speak perfect English either as I don't know anyone who does and common expressions are good to know also. I would help, but I would rather help someone who spoke Spanish as that would help me also.
