Our 3 year old Siamese cat had one litter and than we neutered her. Still, about every 2 months she is in heat again and meows all the time like crazy. I feel bad for her and it also gets on our nervs as she is soooo loud. We have another female cat that had a similar history, but she has not been in heat since the operation and I don't think she'll ever be. What happened to the cat? Was the procedure not well made? Or is it something about Siamese cats that is special?
Thxs in advance

If your cat was truly spayed, she shouldn't be able to go into heat. Spay surgery removes the female organs. I strongly suggest you take her to a vet ASAP. She either is having problems or was never really spayed to begin with.

To clarify, neutered is a term used for both males and females to mean neuteral sex. Spayed is only females.

If any of the reproductive tissue was left in the cat, it can still cause the cat to cycle, but she won't be able to have kittens because the rest of the stuff was already taken out.

Call the vet, have them check her record and see if there were any complications in the spaying (it's only called neutering if it's a male cat). The vet may need to go back in and take out the pieces missed last time to stop her from going in and out of heat.

Females are spayed, males are neutered. The parts are removed, so your cat is not going in to heat. Something else is going on, but siamese cats are known to be pretty talky anyway.

Your spayed cat cannot be "in heat". If you took her to a reputable place to get the procedure done, then it is something else that's bothering her. If you are not sure that the procedure was actually performed take her to a vet, they can feel if the uterus is still there or not. It's very likely that something else is going on with your cat. Good luck.

Usually a neutered male can nonetheless mate with a feminine. This is a well factor because feminine cats will retain to cycle so long as there may be adequate sunlight till they mate. The mating factors ovulation even supposing the feminine does not now not turn out to be pregnant. This offers you a holiday whilst you'll get the feminine spayed with out as so much threat.

It can happen during spay surgery that part of an ovary is left behind. These cats can and do go into heat, although they cannot conceive. Talk to your vet. Believe it or not, she may have to be operated on again to remove all of the tissue.

Well, first off lets hope she was spayed not neutered. If she was in fact spayed (which you can talk to the vet to double check) she could not technically be ''in heat''. And she would be doing it alot more often than that as they typically go into heat every 2-3 weeks when not bred. It does not sound like shes in heat to me, go to the vet to check.

You need to contact the vet that spayed the cat to see if there is something wrong. Siamese cats are known to be very vocal.

I have a friend who's cat does the same thing. It turned out that they never removed one of the whole ovaries.
