is the only way to become a dental hygienest to major in dental hygiene??

i dont know if its what i want to be and my advisor really wasn't all that helpful to be honest

yes,you must major in dental hygienist and past two exams (state board and national board) to be license. Depending where you attend hygiene school, most schools require a number of prerequisites science courses such as physiology, anatomy, chemistry, microbiology and pharmacology.

yes, in most states you have to attend and graduate from hygiene school. after that you have to take and pass the board exam before you can work as a hygienist

Seeing as how thats what you want to be I will take a wild guess and say yes. But I could be wrong. I would go talk to my counseler at school. If your not in school then go to your local dentist office and ask to speak with one of them.
