Now you see I thought you would use beet sugar up north. I am suprised. I still can learn things after all these years. Thank you for helping me do that!

When I made a road trip up through Kansas and up north of there there were fields and fields of sugar beets. These were used to make beet sugar. We went into the store and they only had smal bags of cane sugar there and large bags of beet sugar. Can't remember the state right off hand.

Hi! I'm from Colorado and I only use cane sugar. I find that beet sugar has a very bad smell (kind of like mildew) and doesn't taste anywhere near as good as cane sugar.

Many people use beet sugar and never know they are using it. If the bag does not say "pure cane sugar" or words to that effect, then you are purchasing beet sugar or a blend of beet and cane sugar. Read the ingredients label. In the USA the principal brands of pure cane sugar are Domino's on the east coast and C&H on the west coast. There are other brands of course.

if you live in the USA, (and some other countries from what i hear) and you buy a bag of sugar that says sugar, you are probable eating beet sugar. cane sugar is rare in most of the US.
people learned about sugar cane in school and think that's what the are buying but it is usually beet sugar. also if you are eating candy from the US, beet sugar. i've hauled sugar to different sugar companies and some of the biggest candy companies. it is like people thinking there is a lot of sugar in coke and pepsi, there isn't, it is corn syrup but people still say that they are loaded with sugar

I only notice cane sugar to buy in my Ohio grocery stores. I've heard of beet sugar, but I'm not sure if I've ever had it.
