I was driving late one night from a gas station after a craving for ice cream when all the sudden police lights where flashing behind me. I then realized that my under glow neons where on after noticing the red light on the control panel was glowing. I thought to myself "Oh S***!", because from what I hear it's a big no no for under glow in Virginia. So I of course pulled over and I saw the officer stepping out of the car walking towards me with his flashlight and the first thing he asked was, "where'd you get those lights?". I answered and he said, "Oh just wondering, my son was thinking of getting some and I had no clue where to get them, sorry if I interrupted." He then walked back to his car. I thought it was a joke so I didn't risk driving off before he did because I didn't know if I was getting a ticket and he just walked back to his car to write it off, but no, he drove off and I was left confused.

It sounds like he wanted to know about the lights for his son. Also your car may have matched one that he was watching for and when you did not match the description he found and easy way out.

Police officers are human too. He could of found a differant way to get your attention without the lights. But this way he was assured you'd stop. Not the best way but was effective. People need to realize that there out there just as much to help us as to keep us in accordance with the laws. I'm sure he was greatful but like I said there are other ways to get another dirvers attention. LOL.

Lol you got lucky.

My cousin (well, half cousin) SAID that he was walking down the road smoking a cigarette. A police officer pulled over, got out of the car, and walked over to my cousin. He said " Those are pretty good huh?" My cousin shrugs. The cop told my cousin to give him one, so he did. The cop lit it, got in his car, and drove off. My cousin was 14. Anyways that is what My cousin said happened....he could have been lying though.

This probably never happened since traffic stops are dangerous for us officers just to find out where you got some lights I am not going to risk getting shot at for some lights. Not only that once I turn on my overhead lights the dash camera starts recording I also am not going to risk my job to find out where you got some lights.

Was this a scene from Men in Black?

The officer didn't look like Tommy Lee Jones, did he?

That is what is known as the extremely rare and disputed "consensual traffic stop." If the lights are illegal, be very happy the cop didn't care.

He was probably laughing his head off thinking about how you were going to get the big brown stain off your car seat.

Hon, he stopped to scare the daylights out of you, cause he knew you knew they were illegal in his state and is just now laughing to beat the band.
